Updates/analysis (most recent first)

12:24 p.m. ET -- Kerry Collins -- ESPN Blogs AFC South reports that QB Kerry Collins (calf) is inactive for the Titans. Rusty Smith will serve as the Titans' backup at the position until Collins is able to resume those duties.

12:24 p.m. ET -- Kenny Britt inactive -- ESPN Blogs AFC South confirms that WR Kenny Britt (hamstring) is inactive for the Titans. He might return sometime in December, if you can afford to burn the bench spot on him in the meantime.

12:24 p.m. ET -- Rob Bironas -- ESPN Blogs AFC South reports that K Rob Bironas (back) is active for the Titans. He's a fine fantasy play this week.

12:24 p.m. ET -- Cortland Finnegan active -- ESPN Blogs AFC South reports that CB Cortland Finnegan (shin) is active for the Titans.

12:23 p.m. ET -- -- The Redskins' official website reports that QB Donovan McNabb (hamstring) is active. He's a low-end No. 2 fantasy quarterback facing the stingy Titans defense. If your league penalizes for picks, you probably want to look elsewhere.

12:23 p.m. ET -- LaRon Landry inactive -- The Redskins' official website confirms that S LaRon Landry (Achilles') is inactive. With Landry out, the Redskins' poor pass defense becomes even poorer. It's great news for Vince Young, Randy Moss and Nate Washington.

12:22 p.m. ET -- Hines Ward active -- The Steelers' official website reports that WR Hines Ward (concussion) is active. With Nnamdi Asomugha out for the Raiders, Steelers wideouts become safer fantasy plays. However, Ward's production still slots him in as more of a No. 3 fantasy option.

12:22 p.m. ET -- Steelers IDPs active -- The Steelers' official website reports that LB Lawrence Timmons (hip) and S Troy Polamalu (Achilles') are both active.

12:21 p.m. ET -- Schilens out, Heyward-Bey active -- The Raiders' official website reports that WR Chaz Schilens (knee) is inactive, while WR Darrius Heyward-Bey (hamstring) is active. Heyward-Bey isn't an advised fantasy option facing the Steelers, however.

12:21 p.m. ET -- Nnamdi Asomugha inactive -- The Raiders' official website reports that CB Nnamdi Asomugha (ankle) is inactive.

12:19 p.m. ET -- Mark Sanchez active -- The Jets' official website reports that QB Mark Sanchez (calf) is active, as expected. He had little trouble practicing this week and now faces his most favorable fantasy matchup of the season. He might come close to top-10 fantasy numbers at his position.

12:19 p.m. ET -- Cotchery out, Brad Smith active -- The Jets' official website reports that WR Jerricho Cotchery (groin) is inactive, while WR Brad Smith (back) is active. These are both depth options for the Jets, however, so no need to look to either for fantasy production this week.

12:19 p.m. ET -- Jets IDPs active -- The Jets' official website reports that CB Darrelle Revis (hamstring) and LB David Harris (calf) are both active.

12:16 p.m. ET -- Arian Foster active -- The Texans' official website reports that RB Arian Foster (not injury related) is active, as expected. Don't sweat the Jets matchup; Foster is averaging the second-most fantasy points per game (20.0) this season. Do you really want to get this nutty worrying about his matchups?

12:16 p.m. ET -- Andre Johnson, Kevin Walter active -- The Texans' official website reports that both WRs Andre Johnson (ankle) and Kevin Walter (knee) are active. Johnson might have trouble breaking free from Jets CB Darrelle Revis -- especially since Revis gave him headaches in their last meeting -- but he's also far too talented to sit unless you have a wealth of elite wide-receiver options. Walter should be avoided, however.

12:16 p.m. ET -- Owen Daniels inactive -- The Texans' official website confirms that TE Owen Daniels (hamstring) is inactive. Expect Joel Dreessen and James Casey to again share the tight-end duties, with the same forgettable numbers they've offered the past two weeks.

12:16 p.m. ET -- Mario Williams active -- The Texans' official website reports that DE Mario Williams (groin) is active.

12:15 p.m. ET -- Brett Favre active -- The Vikings' official website reports that QB Brett Favre (ankle) is active, as expected. He's not an advised fantasy play, however, struggling through a miserable season and facing his former team, the Packers, who have caused him all sorts of headaches in recent meetings.

12:14 p.m. ET -- Andrew Quarless active -- The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that TE Andrew Quarless (shoulder) is active for the Packers. He's not a fantasy consideration.

12:14 p.m. ET -- Packers IDPs active -- The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that CB Charles Woodson (toe) and LBs Clay Matthews (shin) and Desmond Bishop (hip) are all active for the Packers.

12:12 p.m. ET -- Dexter McCluster inactive -- The Chiefs' official website reports that WR Dexter McCluster (ankle) is inactive. He remains only a roster-worthy asset in deep keeper leagues.

12:12 p.m. ET -- Tony Moeaki inactive -- The Chiefs' official website confirms that TE Tony Moeaki (head) is inactive. The upshot from this is that Dwayne Bowe should get a few more targets, while the running backs might also be included a tad more in the passing game.

12:12 p.m. ET -- Cardinals IDPs active -- The Arizona Republic reports that LB Paris Lenon (ankle) and S Kerry Rhodes (hand) are both active for the Cardinals.

12:11 p.m. ET -- Justin Durant active -- The Jaguars' official website reports that LB Justin Durant (shin) is active.

12:11 p.m. ET -- Josh Cribbs inactive -- The Browns' official website confirms that WR Josh Cribbs (foot) is inactive. Clifton Smith will handle returns for the Browns, but he's not a fantasy option.

12:10 p.m. -- Tony Romo inactive -- ESPNDallas.com confirms that QB Tony Romo (left shoulder) is inactive for the Cowboys. He's not on season-ending IR and might yet make an appearance later this season, but for now, Jon Kitna remains the team's starting quarterback and a so-so No. 2 fantasy option.
12:06 p.m. ET -- -- The Detroit Free Press confirms that QB Matthew Stafford (right shoulder) is inactive for the Lions. Shaun Hill will start at quarterback again, and is a high-level No. 2 fantasy quarterback with possible top-10 potential facing the Cowboys.

12:06 p.m. ET -- Jahvid Best active -- The Detroit Free Press reports that RB Jahvid Best (toe) is active for the Lions. Just because he has been given the OK doesn't mean he's 100 percent; Best is running like a back whose toes are still problematic. With Kevin Smith (thumb) placed on season-ending injured reserve over the weekend, Best should get enough touches to remain a No. 2/flex option, but he simply lacks explosive weekly fantasy potential. Expect Aaron Brown to serve as Best's little-used backup.

12:06 p.m. ET -- Megatron, Burleson active -- The Detroit Free Press reports that both WRs Calvin Johnson (knee) and Nate Burleson (thigh) are active for the Lions. Calvin Johnson is an automatic against the Cowboys, and there might even be enough targets here for Burleson to be a useful hail-mary play in deeper leagues.

12:06 p.m. ET -- Jason Hanson inactive -- The Detroit Free Press confirms that K Jason Hanson (right knee) is inactive for the Lions. Dave Rayner will handle the kicking chores this week.

12:06 p.m. ET -- Lions IDPs active -- The Detroit Free Press reports that both CB Alphonso Smith (shoulder) and LB DeAndre Levy (groin) are active for the Lions.

12:04 p.m. ET -- Carson Palmer active -- The Bengals' official website reports that QB Carson Palmer (right shoulder) is active, as expected. He's a high-end No. 2 fantasy option facing the Bills, as Cedric Benson's injuries might mean he throws a few more times than usual this week.

12:04 p.m. ET -- Chad Ochocinco active -- The Bengals' official website reports that WR Chad Ochocinco (shoulder) is active. He's still second in this pecking order and the Bengals might not need to throw 40-plus times in order to win, and Ochocinco's fantasy production is usually in the No. 3/4 range when the team doesn't air it out.

12:04 p.m. ET -- Johnathan Joseph active -- The Bengals' official website reports that CB Johnathan Joseph (neck) is active.

12:04 p.m. ET -- Kyle Williams active -- The Bills' official website reports that DT Kyle Williams (hamstring) is active.

12:03 p.m. ET -- C.J. Spiller inactive -- The Bills' official website confirms that RB C.J. Spiller (hamstring) is inactive. Fred Jackson has proven more than capable of handling 20-plus touches, so expect him to be the workhorse here. He's a solid No. 2 fantasy option. RB Corey McIntyre (ankle) is active, and will be a minimally used backup

12:02 p.m. ET -- Jon Beason active -- The Panthers' official website reports that LB Jon Beason (knee) is active.

12:01 p.m. ET -- Brandon LaFell inactive -- The Panthers' official website confirms that WR Brandon LaFell (concussion) is inactive. Steve Smith and David Gettis will be the team's starting wide receivers, but do you really want to trust either with Brian St. Pierre their quarterback?

12:00 p.m. ET -- Tony Scheffler active -- The Detroit Free Press reports that TE Tony Scheffler (shoulder) is active for the Lions. He's not an advised fantasy play; Brandon Pettigrew remains the fantasy tight end of choice from their roster.

11:58 a.m. ET -- Stewart, Sutton inactive -- The Panthers' official website confirms that RBs Tyrell Sutton (ankle) and RB Jonathan Stewart (concussion) are both inactive. Mike Goodson gets another start, but this is a poor matchup for him, being that the Ravens don't usually cede much in the way of rushing yards, and Josh Vaughan did sneak in as a possible goal-line vulture last week.

11:56 a.m. ET -- Jimmy Claussen inactive -- The Panthers' official website confirms that QB Jimmy Clausen (concussion) is inactive. That sets up Brian St. Pierre to start at quarterback, with rookie Tony Pike his backup. Boy, what a mess for the Panthers. If you own the Ravens defense, make sure to start it.

11:54 a.m. ET -- Jake Delhomme inactive No. 3 QB -- The Browns' official website reports that QB Jake Delhomme (ankle) is the inactive No. 3 quarterback. Colt McCoy will get another start with Seneca Wallace his backup, but the matchup against the Jaguars is only favorable enough to make McCoy a low-end No. 2 option if you're in a pinch in a two-quarterback league.

11:51 a.m. ET -- Zach Miller (OAK) active -- The Raiders' official website reports that TE Zach Miller (foot) is active. He's actually not a bad fantasy play at all, his health questions more significant than the matchup. After all, the Steelers have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends, so he's worth slotting back in there.

11:48 a.m. ET -- Torain inactive, Portis active and starts -- The Redskins' official website reports that RB Ryan Torain (hamstring) is inactive, while RB Clinton Portis (groin) is active. Portis gets the start, but in his first game back from a groin injury, he's no more than a flex play. Keiland Williams might very well see a few extra touches to keep the veteran fresh, so that detracts from Portis as a fantasy option.

11:44 a.m. ET -- Beanie Wells active -- The Arizona Republic reports that RB Beanie Wells (knee) is active for the Cardinals. It's unclear, however, how large a role he will play, and Tim Hightower will most certainly be involved. The two are limited in fantasy appeal as a result, and Hightower might actually be the stronger flex bet of the two. Consider both in that classification for the week.

11:44 a.m. ET -- Stephens-Howling, Wright inactive -- The Arizona Republic reports that RBs LaRod Stephens-Howling (hamstring) and Jason Wright (head) are both inactive for the Cardinals. With the backups both out, Beanie Wells and Tim Hightower at least should both get more touches, which will help bolster their possible flex value.

11:42 a.m. ET -- Donald Driver active -- The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that WR Donald Driver (quadricep) is active for the Packers. He was iffy for this game, and there's a good chance he'll take on a limited role this week, especially with James Jones performing well in his absence. Jones is a useful No. 3/4 option, though his fantasy appeal takes a slight hit with news Driver is active.

11:41 a.m. ET -- Todd Heap active -- The Ravens' official website reports that TE Todd Heap (chest) is active. His is a tremendous matchup, against a Panthers defense that has allowed five touchdowns and 60 fantasy points total to opposing tight ends the past four weeks. Go for it, Heap owners.

11:40 a.m. ET -- Matt Schaub active -- The Texans' official website reports that QB Matt Schaub (knee) is active. This was expected, but he was limited in practice this week and will be facing the Jets' tough defense. Consider Schaub more of a high-end No. 2 option this week than his traditional top-10 status.

11:38 a.m. ET -- Mike Sims-Walker inactive -- The Jaguars' official website reports that WR Mike Sims-Walker (ankle) is inactive. Tiquan Underwood will start in his place, but he's not a recommended fantasy fill-in. Mike Thomas is the Jaguars wideout to get facing the Browns; he's a useful No. 3 option
.
11:35 a.m. ET -- Harvin, Berrian active -- The Vikings' official website reports that WRs Percy Harvin (ankle) and Bernard Berrian (groin) are both active, as is fresh-off-PUP WR Sidney Rice (hip). Rice and Berrian's active status effectively cancels one another out as fantasy options, but Harvin should be a worthwhile No. 2/3 option.

11:33 a.m. ET -- Cedric Benson active -- The Bengals' official website reports that RB Cedric Benson (foot) is active. He's going to be playing at a bit less than 100 percent, however, so don't race to declare him an elite play against the Bills' shoddy run defense. Bernard Scott might see a few more carries to keep Benson fresh, and the veteran starter had been in a bit of a slump besides. Consider him a low-end No. 2/high-end flex.
