Pickups for Week 8

Are you in need of some assistance on who to pickup to help bolster your roster? Here are some players who we think can make a positive impact on your fantasy squad, who are still available in most leagues.

Must Haves:

Davone Bess (WR) - I don't understand why this guy is owned in under 50% of leagues.  He has been compared to Wes Welker and has been amazing on third downs.  Henne really loves this guy when he needs to pick up short yardage or wants to dump a pass off, and Bess can pick up the YACs.  He's a great option in a PPR league as he has at least 5 catches in all but 1 game this year and has scored in 3 consecutive games.
7 Catches for 53 Yards (9 Targets).

DeAngelo Williams out? Jonathan Stewart to see workload increase

If you've been holding onto Jonathan Stewart this year, the wait may have finally paid off.  Stewart has been struggling all season long, with only 1 rushing TD and 148 yards, only averaging 3 yards per carry.  This week the Panthers play the Rams and DeAngelo Williams may not be suiting up which mean Stewart finally will get a chance to get back on track.

Via gastongazette.com:
CHARLOTTE — Running back DeAngelo Williams was held out of Wednesday’s practice because of a sprained foot, raising some question as to his availability for Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Rams.  Williams injured his foot In the final minutes of Carolina’s 23-20 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, but it’s not believed to be serious.  Even if Williams doesn’t play Sunday, the Panthers should be fine since running back is their deepest position. Jonathan Stewart would start, while Mike Goodson and Tyrell Sutton would work in off the bench.

Tony Romo Could Be Out For the Season!

Last night Michael Boley of the New York Football Giants, knocked QB Tony Romo out of the game and possibly the Season.  While putting pressure on Romo, Boley wrapped him up, locking Romo's left arm and slammed him to the ground.  The Cowboys star QB landed hard on his left shoulder and broke his left Clavicle.  They said during the broadcast last night that this kind of injury normally takes anywhere between 8-10 weeks to come back from.  And depending on today's results, we will find out just how long Romo is out for.  The closer the break is to the shoulder, the shorter the recovery.  It looks like the Cowboys season is long over and there should be no rush to bring back Romo.

Monday News

  • Steven Jackson underwent finger surgery to fix a crack in his ring finger on his left hand.
    • Status is uncertain for Sunday against the Panthers.
  • If the news of Kenny Britt not starting shyed you away from starting him against the Eagles, and you had his 225 receiving yards and 3 TDs on the bench, I feel sorry for you.
    • Same goes for Darren McFaddens 4 TD's in a Raiders 59-14 blowout over the Broncos.
  • Ryan Fitzpatrick is forreal (374 Yards with 4 TDs against the Ravens), and that makes Lee Evans (3 touchdowns) and Steve Johnson (8 Catches for 158 yards and a touchdown) a pretty good #3 WR option.

Fantasy Football Week 7 - Bye Weeks(DET, IND, NYJ, HOU)

If we have given you a suggestion as to who you should play, please reply on Monday or Tuesday and let us know what you did and if it worked!

KeithyP's Favs of the Week
Fav QB Matchup - Drew Brees vs Browns - Cleveland is near the bottom in passing yards allowed per game (228) and only have 4 Interceptions and 10 sacks but have allowed 11 touchdowns.  Brees looked like the Superbowl MVP last week against the Buccaneers and should put up great fantasy numbers at home.
37 of 56 for 356 Yards with 2 TDs and 4 INTs.

Pickups for Week 7

Are you in need of some assistance on who to pickup to help bolster your roster? Here are some players who we think can make a positive impact on your fantasy squad, who are still available in most leagues.

Must Haves:

Deon Branch (WR) -  On Sunday Branch looked like the Super Bowl MVP he once was when Brady threw to him a few years back.  No Randy Moss, means Brady will be spreading the ball around to everyone, and Branch in just his first game back with the Pats, recorded 9 catches for 96 yards and a TD, against a tough Ravens defense.  The chemistry between Brady and Branch still exists and thats good new for Branch owners.
5 Catches for 26 Yards.

Fantasy Football Week 6 - Bye Weeks(Ari, Buf, Car, Cin)

If we have given you a suggestion as to who you should play, please reply on Monday or Tuesday and let us know what you did and if it worked!

KeithyP's Favs of the Week

Fav QB Matchup - Philip Rivers @ Rams - St. Louis gives up big passing plays and that is just what San Diego is capable of doing.  The Chargers average 9.6 yards per pass attempt, highest in the league, on 32 plays over 20 yards and 6 over 40.  Rivers should have a great day as should his big name receivers.
22 of 37 for 249 Yards with a TD and INT.

Pickups for Week 6

Are you in need of some assistance on who to pickup to help bolster your roster? Here are some players who we think can make a positive impact on your fantasy squad, who are still available in most leagues.

Must Haves:
Andrew Quarless (TE) - With Jermichael Finley and Donald Lee out, the rookie from Penn State will get the start against the Dolphins in week 6.  Finley is out for at least 3weeks the season and Donald Lee will miss at least the next two weeks with chest pains.  Even without Rodgers taking snaps, Quarless might see a lot of targets as Matt Flynn will check down to him often.  Put your waiver claim in ASAP!
1 Catch for 23 Yards (2 targets).

Eagles Trade for Jerome Harrison

The Philadelphia Eagles have traded running back Mike Bell to the Cleveland Browns for Jerome Harrison.  Harrison was predicted to have a big year after finishing the 2009 season with 286, 148, and 127 yard games with a total of 5 TDs.  However ever since they traded for Peyton Hillis, Harrison hasn't got the touches he needs to get going, and has caused him to be very disappointed in his role with the Browns.  So far this year he has 31 carries for 91 yards and no touchdowns.  Bell has rushed 16 times for 28 yards and no touchdowns.

Monday News

Some Serious Packer News Here:
  • Aaron Rodgers has a concussion and coach Mike McCarthy said it's very possible he will miss next weeks game.
    • Backup Matt Flynn will likely get the start if Rodgers cant go.
  • Tight End Jermichael Finley will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery and be out at least three weeks.is out 8-10 weeks
    • Backup tight end Donald Lee also got hurt in this game. Will miss 2 weeks.
In Other News:
    • Rams Wide Receiver Mark Clayton will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn patellar tendon in his right knee.
    • Eagles DT Brodrick Bunkley will undergo elbow surgery after suffering a ligament tare.  Another blow to the Eagles defense who have seen a number of injuries this season.
    • Colts Running back Joseph Addai had to leave Sundays game against the Chiefs in the 3rd quarter after suffering a neck/shoulder injury that sidelined him the rest of the game.  No immediate word on his status.
    • Calvin Johnson suffered a shoulder injury in the 4th quarter against the Rams, and when asked if the Lions were not up 44-6, could he return, he said no.
    • Bruce Gradkowski left the game after throwing only 7 passes with a shoulder injury.  Jason Campbell finished the game and led the Raiders to an upset win over the Chargers but the job is Gradkowski's if he is healthy enough to go.

Bye Week Breakdowns - Week 6

    KeithyP's Breakdown
Buffalo Bills- Buffalo opened up the season to one of the toughest 4 week period any team faces this year. They started at home against division rival, Miami Dolphins. Followed that up with away games @Packer and @Patriots. They got to come home after two rough losses, but realized they had the challenge of hosting the New York Jets. The offense has only put up more than 14 points once(30 against Pats) and the Defense has only given up LESS than 34 points once,15 opening night against Miami. It has been a rough decade for Bills fans and this season is another one going nowhere fast.

Already this season, the Bills have released QB Trent Edwards and traded RB Marshawn Lynch. Rookie and 1st round draft pick CJ Spiller only has 19 carries for 80 yards and 13 catches for 48 yards and 1 TD. He also has returned a kickoff for a TD. Fred Jackson is healthy again and rushing for 5 yards a carry. WR Steve Johnson, 7th round pick in 2008, has made some spectacular catches this year leading the team in Targets and TDs and looks like the real deal. Since Ryan Fitzpatrick has taken over at Qb, the Bills offense has looked better. He has played to a QB rating of 99.9(7tds 2INTs) while Trent Edwards was playing at a 58.3 rating.

The Bills biggest issue is their run defense. they have allowed almost 200 yards more than the next worst defense(Raiders). They are above average against the pass as they have great young CBs and Safeties.
    • 2006 - SS Donte Whitner with the 8th Pick. (Teams leader in tackles)
    • 2008 - CB Leodis McKelvin with the 11th overall pick
    • 2009 - FS Jairus Byrd 42nd overall

    Pats Acquire Deon Branch

Just a week ago the Pats traded Randy Moss, and now have reacquired Deon Branch who was once the SuperBowl MVP for the Patriots.  The Pats gave up a 4th round pick for Branch.

Fantasy Football Week 5 - Bye Weeks(MIA, NE, PIT, SEA)

Have a dilemma at RB/WR? Cant figure out which player to start? Leave your question in the comment section and we will hook you up with the right answer!

If we have given you a suggestion as to who you should play, please reply on Monday or Tuesday and let us know what you did and if it worked!

    KeithyP's Favs of the Week

Fav QB Matchup - Eli Manning @ Texans - Houston secondary is statistically the worst in the league allowing 337 yards a game through the air.  They have given up 8 TDs with only 2 interceptions.  If the Giants receivers can actually hold on to the ball, instead of popping it up in the air for the defense to grab, Eli should have a nice day.
    27 of 42 for 297 Yards with 3 TDs and 2 INTs

    Pickups for Week 5

Are you in need of some assistance on who to pickup to help bolster your roster? Here are some players who we think can make a positive impact on your fantasy squad, who are still available in most leagues.

    Must Haves:
Santonio Holmes (WR) - Will see his first snaps of the season in week 5 and with the Jets Offense rolling the way it is, expect him to put up some numbers.  If not right away, he will have over 10 games to prove worthy of picking scooped of waivers if available in your league.  If he is there, and it seems like most people are in need of WR help, this guy can help!
    3 Catches for 41 Yards

    Solid Pickups

Tony Moeaki (TE) - Moeaki has become Matt Cassels comfort receiver so far this year.  He has 2 TDs through the first 3 games, and is a solid option to use at your TE position.
    4 Catches for 50 Yards.

Ryan Torain (RB) - Torain has been impressive splitting time with Clinton Portis the past 2 weeks, rushing for 116 yards on 25 carries and a TD.  Portis said he doesn't believe he will be able to play against the Packers Sunday which mean Torain will get the start and see a lot of work.  He's worth a start this week.
UPDATE: Portis will miss 4-6 weeks!
16 Carries for 40 Yards, 4 Catches for 27 Yards.

Bye Week Breakdowns - Week 5

    KeithyP's Breakdown
Miami Dolphins- Miami started the 2010 campaign with a bang going 2-0 against division rival Buffalo Bills and the Minnesota Vikings. The defense looked sharp giving up only 10 points in both games and had a huge stand on 4th and goal against the Vikings in Minnesota to win the game. The two games that followed changed the landscape for the Dolphins season and I think showed us who the Dolphins really are.

    UPDATE: Monday Injury News

    • UPDATE:Clinton Portis will miss 4-6 weeks!
      • Clinton Portis said his injured groin should keep him out of the game this weekend against the Packers.  Meaning Ryan Torain should be the primary back.
    • LeSean McCoy broke a rib during the game against the Redskins, but play through the injury.  His status for week 5 is uncertain right now.
      • The Eagles are repordily going after Marshawn Lynch. Seahawks traded for Lynch

BREAKING NEWS: Randy Moss to Vikings A Done Deal

     VIA ESPN:

The Vikings and the Patriots have agreed to a blockbuster trade that will send Pro Bowl wide receiver back to Minnesota for the Vikings' 2011 third-round pick on Wednesday, an NFL source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. When the trade is completed, the Patriots will have two picks in each of the first four rounds of the 2011 draft -- their own picks and a first-round pick from Oakland, a second-round pick from Carolina, the third-round pick from the Vikings and a fourth-rounder from Denver.
    (Updated: 10/6/2010 @ 9:18AM)

FoxSports - The Vikings are close to acquiring Randy Moss via trade, according to sources. The Patriots say the deal is contingent on the Vikings agreeing to a new contract with Moss. Moss began his career with the Vikings before eventually being traded to Oakland. The Vikings have been searching for a star-caliber receiver and were unable to pick up Vincent Jackson.

Wow that would be a surprising move from the 3-1 Pats. Knowing this is Moss' last year you think they would make one last push for a Super Bowl, but I guess they want to get something in return and hope for success down the road. Take away Randy Moss from this team and the offense gets significantly worse.

    Seahawks Acquire Marshawn Lynch

UPDATE: The Buffalo Bills received a 2011 4th round pick, as well as a conditional pick in 2012.

The Seattle Seahawks have acquired Marshawn Lynch from the Buffalo Bills. No word on who the Bills get in return but Julius Jones will get cut. Leon Washington will be the kick returner as Lynch and Forsett will handle the running back duties.

    Pickups for Week 4

Are you in need of some assistance on who to pickup to help bolster your roster? Here are some players who we think can make a positive impact on your fantasy squad, who are still available in most leagues.

    Must Haves

BenJarvus Green-Ellis (RB) - No real RB in New England.  Fred Taylor is nearing the end of his career and they got rid of Maroney.  Green-Ellis was impressive against the Bills rushing for 98 yards and a score on 16 carries.  He should be the primary back from here on out for the Patriots, and that should make him a must have on your fantasy team.  The Pats score points and Brady gets the ball down the field in a hurry, so that can mean some TDs in the redzone for Green-Ellis.
18 Carries for 76 Yards and a TD.

    KeithyP's Favs of the Week

Fav QB Matchup - Peyton Manning @ Jaguars - After watching Michael Vick terrorize Jacksonville's secondary, I can only imagine what Peyton Manning can do against them
    33 for 46 for 352 Yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT

    Example:
    I traded - Hines Ward
    I received - Ronnie Brown
Not a PPR league and Knowshon Moreno was out that week

Bye Week Breakdowns - Week 4

    KeithyP's Breakdown

Dallas Cowboys - As potential Super Bowl favorites, the Cowboys shocked the NFL dropping their first two games of the year. The offensive line has been terrible and gets penalized all the time, which is causing the run game to suffer. In three games this year, the Cowboys leading rusher has gained 39, 31, and 55 yards and they have only scored 1 TD on the ground.
