UPDATE (5/20): With Shane Victorino going on the 15-day DL, the Phillies have called up Domonic Brown, who was hitting .341 in AAA. If your outfield is struggling, Brown is a nice short term fill in, as he'll get to play just about everyday with Victorino out.
Going into spring training, it looked like the Phillies were expecting Domonic Brown to be a big part of the offense going forward in 2011. Unfortunately Brown broke his right hand in spring training and had to miss the next 4 to 6 weeks.
Well the 6'5 lefty is back playing baseball and looks as if he hasn't missed a beat so far in his rehab assignment. Brown is hitting .368 with 2 home runs and 4 rbi's in 5 games.
With Raul Ibanez off to a rough start and Ben Francisco hitting under .260, Domonic Brown is in line to see a lot of playing time when the Phillies are ready to bring him up. At only 23 years old, Brown is going to be a corner outfielder in Philadelphia for a long time, and somebody you might want to pick up in your league and keep him on your bench because it's only a matter of time before he gets called up and is in Phillies lineup on a daily basis.
