The Boston Red Sox have had a number of injuries to their pitching staff, losing 40% of their starting rotation - Daisuke Matsuzaka and John Lackey, and some key pieces to their bullpen in Dan Wheeler and Bobby Jenks.
To try and fix these problems, the Red Sox made a couple of moves, signing veteran right hander Kevin Millwood to a minor league contract and trading for southpaw Franklin Morales, who will take the spot of Hideki Okajima who was designated for assignment.
From a fantasy point of view, if Millwood ever makes it onto the Red Sox roster he might have some value. He is a veteran pitcher who knows how to pitch, and is a workhorse. He is usually good for 6 or 7 or even 8 innings per start. He's not afraid to go after hitters and could be a worthy pickup in fantasy if he can keep the ball in the park.
