Spotlight Player of the Day -
8/19 - Eli Manning -
- Well all know that Eli is not Tom Brady, but he had no other way to answer the question, "Are you in Tom Brady's Class?" Didn't Eli beat Tom Brady in the Superbowl while winning the MVP? Yeah, anyways, Eli Manning is a decent fantasy QB option and even though he lost two of his favorite options in Steve Smith and Kevin Boss, Manning completed passes to 14 different receivers last season. Hakeem Nicks is a top 15 receiver in the league and Mario Manningham is a great YAC receiver. With these two catching Eli's passes he is destined for a 3rd 4,000 yard season in a row. And the INT matter should not concern you, as before last season Manning averaged 15.8 a season as a starter, the EXACT same average as Drew Brees. In case you are wondering, Brees threw 22 last year. Does that make you want Brees any less? Didn't think so, feel free to be comfortable drafting Eli Manning.
- Last season, Matt Cassel proved that he was worth the new contract. This season, Cassel has been given Steve Breaston and 6'4 rookie Jonathan Baldwin to add to the attack. Cassel only threw 7 interceptions last season to 27 TDs. If he can replicate this patience and precision, Cassel could be a very valuable fantasy QB.
Sam Bradford -
- Sam Bradford and the Rams were forced to throw more than they wanted last season, but Bradford did as good a job any rookie could do. Now entering his second season, and adding Mike Sims-Walker to an all ready deep WR core, Bradford finally has a go to receiver along with two guys in the backfield with hands in Steven Jackson and Cadillac Williams.
- The comfort of knowing your the everyday player should take some pressure off of Kolb's shoulders. Not to mention he has Larry Fitzgerald's hands to throw the ball too. Kolb was supposed to be the future of the Eagles before Vick arrived, so if he was good enough for Philly, he should be great for the Cards.
