Key Fantasy Players on Bye:
Week 10 was a disaster for many fantasy football owners. Quarterbacks Matt Schaub and Matt Cassel both suffered season ending injuries and once again Mike Vick is injured with broken ribs and his start is in doubt against the Giants in NY. Running back Knowshown Moreno tore his ACL and is also done for the year. Wide receivers Calvin Johnson and Julio Jones also suffered injuries. With all these injuries these are the players you should turn to for the rest of the year.
Carson Palmer QB - Palmer played a great game on Thursday night leading the Raiders to a win over the Chargers for 1st place in the AFC West. The cobwebs are gone and he's showing he's back in true form. The Raiders have a great run game and a number of options in the pass game which should allow Palmer plenty of time to find open guys. Palmer has a chance to becoming a great NFL QB again and with all the injuries recently it's now time to add him.
Lance Ball RB - Well the Broncos only needed 2 completions by Tebow to win on Sunday and that's because they effectively ran the ball 55 times for 244 yards. In the process Willis McGahee left the game and Knowshown Moreno suffered a season ending torn ACL. Lance Ball is a guy you want to add as the Broncos are now a running team. Even if McGahee is able to play in week 11 Ball will get plenty of carries and should for the rest of the year.
Vincent Brown WR - In the last two weeks the rookie wide-out has 9 catches 176 yards and a TD. As long as Floyd is out nursing an injury, Brown is a quality fantasy option as he and Rivers are starting to form a chemistry.
Damian Williams WR - Williams is making a name for himself since Britt suffered a season ending injury. In his last 6 games Williams has scored in 4 of them. In his last 3 games Williams has 13 catches 201 and 2 TDs. Williams has turned into Hasselbeck's most reliable receiver.
Harry Douglas WR - Douglas took advantage of Julio Jones injury as he racked up 133 yards on 8 catches. If Jones can't go next week Douglas will move into the starting lineup.
Matt Leinart QB - The Texans are on a BYE in week 11 and they should be getting Andre Johnson back in week 12. This gives Leinart plenty of time to get comfortable running the offense and getting into a rhythm with Johnson as the Texans are a lock for the playoffs.
Kendall Hunter RB - With Gore nursing an injury in the 2nd half of the 49ers/Giants game on Sunday, Hunter rushed for 40 yards and a TD on just 6 rushes. The 49ers play the Cardinals in week 11 and with the 49ers having such a huge lead in the NFC West they might just give Gore a week to sit and get healthy. Hunter might get a number of starts down the stretch as they will want to keep Gore healthy for the playoffs.
Good For A Week
Vince Young QB - The Eagles look to be done as they fall to 3-6 so they might give Mike Vick the week off to recover with broken ribs. This now gives Vince Young a chance to show what he can do. If Vick needs to sit for longer than a week, Young becomes a pretty solid option at QB down the road.
Chris Ogbonnaya RB – Again Hillis and Hardesty will probably be out in week 11. Ogbonnaya rushed for 90 yards and had 2 catches for 19 yards against the Rams in week 10. The Browns face a tough Jacksonville defense but Ogbonnaya should have plenty of touches in this one as the Jaguars offense doesn't stay on the field for long. With a few Gabbert mistakes, Ogbonnaya might be set up nicely to score his first touchdown.
Jaguars/Browns Defense - Just as I suggested for week 10, the Jags defense will be worthy of a start in week 11 against a Cleveland offense who has only scored 12 TDs in 9 games. On Sunday against the Curtis Painter and the Colts the Jags only allowed 3 points, 5 sacks, 2 INT and a fumble recovery. The Browns defense on the other hand faces an even worse Jags offense and should benefit from the mistakes Gabbert makes
Players to Watch
Tyler Palko QB - Matt Cassel is out for the year as we find out he will need surgery on his hand. This looks like the end of time for Cassel in KC. Tyler Palko has been named QB from here on out. The Chiefs are only a game out of first place and Palko will have to step up to keep them in the hunt even without their starting QB and RB.
