Teams Playing 4 Games
Cleveland Cavaliers(13-18) - The Cavs are just 1.5 games out of the playoffs! Rookie of the Year Kyrie Irving has proved himself worthy of the first overall draft choice and is leading this franchise in the right direction. With 4 games this week, the Cavs face 3 teams ahead of them in the playoff hunt(vsBos, @NY, vsCHI) before heading to DC to take on John Wall and the 7 win Wizards. Continue playing the usual Cavaliers and expect similar results from all.
Dallas Mavericks(21-13) - The Mavericks should have no trouble getting back into the swing of things with games against New Jersey, at Memphis, at New Orleans and end at home against the Jazz. Continue to stay away from Lamar Odom as he just does not seem to be happy in Dallas.
Milwaukee Bucks (13-20) - The Bucks could really hurt themselves this week if they struggle during a tough 3 game road trip. After hosting the Wizards on Tuesday, they head to Boston before stopping in Atlanta on their way back to Orlando. If the Bucks go 1-3 this week, they could see themselves nearly 4 games behind the Cavs who they are battling to squeeze into the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference. If you stashed Stephen Jackson this long, it's time to let go and move on.
Minnesota Timberwolves (17-17) - Kevin Love's Timberwolves start the second half of the season with a difficult West Coast trip with back-to-back-to-back against the Clippers, Lakers and Suns. After a night off they face the Trail Blazers up in Portland. Another up and coming team on the outside looking in, the Wolves need to upset one of the Clips/Lakers and Rip City, while beating the Suns to prove they are playoff ready. Let's just hope that Derrick Williams debacle at the dunk contest does not affect his confidence on the basketball court. Nikola Pekovic was averaging 18 points, 10 boards and nearly 2 blocks over the last 5 games before the break. If for some reason this guy is available in your league, pick him up and enjoy!
New Orleans Hornets (8-25) - Jarrett Jack, Trevor Ariza and Chris Kaman are the only players on the woeful Hornets that should be on your fantasy team. They are each averaging between 13-16 points, 5-8 rebounds, and 3-5 assists a night over their last 5 contests. Each player has missed time this season and each player will most likely miss more time this season, but keep them in your lineups until they are rocking suits on the bench. They do have 3 tough games this week though with a trip to Chicago followed by 3 home games against the Raptors, Mavericks and Pacers.
Utah Jazz (15-17) -The Jazz start the second half of the season with the Slam Dunk Champion going right back to the bench. It is unfortunate for Jeremy Evans that the Jazz are loaded at the PF/C position because I really feel like he could be a valuable fantasy player. But because of the amount of potential talent on this Jazz roster, Al Jefferson and Paul Milsap seem to be the only ones with any value. They are the only Jazz averaging 10 points a night and only Gordon Hayward(27) and Devin Harris(25) see enough playing time to put up stats. Utah sits in last place in the Northwest division but at 15-17 they are just a run away from a playoff berth. With games against the Kings in Sacramento, the Rockets and Heat in Salt Lake City(where they are 12-6) and a trip to Dallas, the Jazz need to split the week and keep pace with the TWolves Nuggets and Blazers.
Every other team plays 2 or 3 games this week
- The Hawks host all 3 games this week
- The Lakers, Suns and Spurs host their 2 games this week
- The Warriors and Thunder play all 3 games on the road
- The Bobcats, Heat and Nets play both their games on the road
- The Knicks play just once and host the Cavaliers
