Early Look at NFL

Week 14 just ended, but we’re already planning for the next week (is that a good thing?) Our lineup did great, but we focused more on NBA this week with our money. We had some big hits getting a Scheffler TD and making the obvious pick of Adrian Peterson, but we also had a nice hit with Green having a good day for cheap and Colts/Seattle D doing big and BIG things. This next week we are going to try and do even better. Here are our top 3 rankings per skill position.
QB:
  1. Josh Freeman
  2. Matt Ryan
  3. Peyton Manning
Value Play - Ryan Tannehill
Josh Freeman goes up against the brutal Saints defense who just gave up 52 points to the Giants. He has a ton of weapons to choose from and has the looks of a big scoring game with the Bucs defense being nothing to write home about. Matty Ice is going to need a big game and prove to the haters that the Falcons are deserving of having the best record in the NFC. We expect a great bounce back game against the Giants. Peyton, well, he’s Peyton. There’s no reason to outsmart yourself on this one. He faces the Ravens who are injured and struggling defensively.

RB:
  1. Adrian Peterson
  2. Doug Martin
  3. CJ Spiller
Value Play - Knowshon Moreno
Adrian Peterson should be the top RB every weekend. He’s got his eyes on 2,000 rushing yards and we’re not sure who’s going to stop him. The Rams will do the best they can to slow him down, but he’s all the offense the Vikings have right now. Doug Martin has a juicy matchup against the Saints, and he’s priced under 7k even after going over 20 fantasy points in week 14. CJ Spiller really becomes the top RB for the Bills with Fred Jackson being hurt for what looks like the rest of the season.

WR:
  1. Demaryius Thomas
  2. Roddy White
  3. Danario Alexander
Value Play - Mike Williams
Demaryius Thomas is the top guy for the Broncos and Peyton is having a stellar year. He’s looked to him consistently each week and is a lock for a great amount of targets. Roddy White is at home and Julio always seems to be bad at home. We’re thinking that Roddy gets his plenty of targets and puts up 20 fantasy points with the matchup against the Giants. Danario Alexander has put up insane numbers lately and seems to be Rivers’ favorite target with the way Gates has been playing.

TE:
  1. Tony Gonzalez
  2. Aaron Hernandez
  3. Martellus Bennett
Value Play - Tony Scheffler
Tony Gonzalez was looked to often last weekend and should be getting a good amount of targets against the Giants. He’s a reliable veteran who has put up double digit points in two straight. Aaron Hernandez went off against the Texans on MNF and there’s no reason to think he can’t replicate that even against a defense like the Giants. With Edelman and Gronk hurt, Brady’s options are thin. Eli has shown that he loves throwing to Bennett. Bennett has rewarded him with not many drops and some big catches as of late.
