NBA Plays for 12/8

This Saturday we’re enjoying the smaller player pool to choose from. For one, some of our favorite plays are playing today and they’re also cheap. Finding these guys is a must and capitalizing on players who are consistently top performers is huge. To make sure you guys do this, we are going to list our top plays at each position to go along with a value play for each.

Point Guard:
  1. Rajon Rondo
  2. Stephen Curry
  3. Kemba Walker
Value Play- Gary Neal
Rondo is a boss if you didn’t see his game yesterday. He had a triple double within 27 minutes of the game and ended with 60+ fantasy points. The best news is that the Celtics play the 76ers again tonight. Curry has consistently been a top performer and is worthy his 8.3k price. He’s gone for 42+ in five straight games. Kemba had an “off night” and still went for 30+ Friday. He should have fresher legs because of the blowout last night and is someone we really like tonight.

Shooting Guard:
  1. Evan Turner
  2. James Harden
  3. OJ Mayo
Value Play- Jason Richardson
Turner is a great play due to his ability to do it all. The former NCAA player of the year put up 48 points on the Celtics last night and play them again tonight. Harden went off for 45+ points last night and went for 38 the game before. His shot looked great and shot for a high percentage. He’s been bad on back to back nights, so he’s not a must play by any means. He is a high risk, high reward player. Mayo looks to be healthier and man does his shot look sweet these days. He has averaged 31 points on the season and faces one of the worst defenses in the league tonight.

Small Forward:
  1. Luol Deng
  2. Rudy Gay
  3. Carmelo Anthony
Value Play-
Deng isn’t the flashiest of players, but he has been very consistent. In his last five games, he has put up 32 points or more 4 of the last 5 games. Gay has gone for 30+ in 8 of his last 10 and looks to be a consistently performer because of his ability to fill a stat sheet. He faces the Hawks at home, a team he hasn’t faced this season.  If Melo plays tonight he’s a great play like he is every night. Melo is priced lower then usual being at 8.2k and he has had some days off to freshen his legs.

Power Forward:
  1. David Lee
  2. Joakim Noah
  3. Tim Duncan
Value Play- Steve Novak
David Lee has been a monster in his last ten games going for over 50 two times, over 40 five times, and over 30 three times. For his 8k salary this is what you expect and goes up against a weak Wizards team. Noah went for a MONSTER game last night with over 30 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists. Need I say more? Tim Duncan is Mr. Consistent and is a lock for over 30 every time out. He has even gone for over 40 five times in his last ten games.

Center:
  1. Anderson Varejao
  2. Chris Bosh
  3. Carlos Boozer
Value Play- Lavoy Allen
Varejao is a little pricey today, so we won’t be able to fit him into our lineup, but if we could we would. He’s a great play because of his ability to rebound (obviously) and against a team like the Pistons who just got wooped by David Lee and Noah, why would you think Varejao won’t do the same? Chris Bosh goes up against the Hornets who shut down Zach Randolph last night, but didn’t do so well against Marc Gasol. Boozer has had a solid season and has put up over 30 fantasy points in four straight games.
