Thursday night we made our FanThrowdown debut playing a few head to head games and we enjoyed it. The site is up and coming, and we have really liked it so far. From first glance at Friday’s player pool, it’s going to be challenging to pick a team, but we found some nice value plays after looking harder. It’s tough to find a lot when no injury updates are out, so we’ll be able to implement those plays tomorrow.
The Great Wall of John
Tacky title there, but we just love John Wall tomorrow. He’s playing solid minutes since coming back from his injury and we have seen improvement in each game. He put up 34 fantasy points in his last game, and on the seasons is averaging 23.3 points. For his price of $5,200 that can’t be beat. Going up against Ty Lawson who just gave up a big time scoring day for Westbrook should mean a very good matchup for Wall.
Battle of No Name Big Men
We had a short discussion with the guys over at Ludawgs about how no normal sports fan would know the big men on the Wizards and the Nuggets. The only player possibly known would be Javale McGee and people would probably think he was a Wizard.
Friday looks to be our first night of using Nene. His price is very nice as he is $5,900 on FTD, and honestly the matchup is solid for him. He could be paired up with the Manimal, but we don’t see it hurting his value much. In his last game, he went for 33 fantasy points. Nene should be able to hit his value at his mid range price.
Zach Randolph’s Injury Status
The status of Z-Bo is going to play a big part into tomorrow’s lineups. He missed practice Thursday, so there is a possibility that he will be out for the game against the Kings. If this happens, Marreese Speights becomes a very good play on FTD as he is priced at $4,100. Speights hasn’t seen a ton of minutes, but he did play 27 minutes on the 4th and put up 22 points and 13 rebounds. His matchup is nice going against the Kings and will be on our team if Z-Bo is out.
George’s Juicy Matchup
Paul George finds himself with our favorite matchup of the night. Not only has George been one of the most reliable fantasy players as of late, he has gone for some big games going for 29/11 and 24/11 in two straight games earlier this month. His matchup against the Rockets is huge as he is 10 fantasy points per game better at home than he is on the road. Throw in the fact that the Rockets are among the worst at stopping teams and we love this play.
Brooklyn and Atlanta Rematch
The Nets play the Hawks again Friday, and we look to capitalize on a great performance from Devin Harris Wednesday night. Harris played very well against the Nets going for 36 fantasy points, and if he starts again he makes for another good play at $4,500. The Hawks have been switching around their starters lately, and with Josh Smith back from suspension there will be more rearranging, so make sure Harris is starting before lineups lock Friday night.
