Top Plays for Fanthrowdown 2/1

We consider Thursdays to be one of the worst days of the week. It’s a complete tease being right before Friday, and then the NBA gives us two games every week?! C’Mon! Well, it’s Friday and it’s a glorious day for oh so many reasons. We have a massive 12 game schedule tonight, and we’re going to be ready for it, and so are you. This Friday we give to you our top three plays at each position on Fanthrowdown.

Point Guard
  1. Jrue Holiday
  2. Brandon Jennings
  3. Greivis Vasquez
Value Play - Avery Bradley
Jrue Holiday has a great matchup tonight going against the Kings. He’s averaging 33 fantasy points a game this season. Jennings goes up against the guards of the Knicks which have been brutal lately. He has been pretty solid going for over 28 in five of his last six games. Vasquez finds himself back on our list as he is a cheaper option. We like that he’s gone for 31 and 34 in his last two games after a rough few games.

Shooting Guard
  1. Paul George
  2. Nic Batum
  3. Eric Bledsoe
Value Play - Jerryd Bayless
George is on national television and had a big double double last time versus the Heat. He’s gone for over 30 in eight of his last nine games. Batum does it all and even though he hasn’t been consistent as of late, he can give you 40+ on any given night. Bledsoe should be starting for CP3 tonight, and has continued to have nice success. At his $5,200 price you can’t do better.

Small Forward
  1. LeBron James
  2. Luol Deng
  3. Carmelo Anthony
Value Play - Ersan Ilyasova
LeBron is on national television tonight? Yes please. With max salaries being capped, there is no reason not to go with him here. Luol Deng finds himself in front of Melo because we like his price a lot better. He went for 32 last game and now that he’s healthy he should be able to stay around that point total. Melo is always a solid option, but we are going to save money elsewhere. You can’t go wrong when taking him though if you’re looking for guaranteed 35 points.

Power Forward
  1. LaMarcus Aldridge
  2. Blake Griffin
  3. Tristan Thompson
Value Play - Lamar Odom
LA is coming off a big time game last time out (50 fantasy points), and has gone for 33+ in eight of his last nine games. He doesn’t have the best matchup, but we still love him tonight. Griffin has gone for 40+ in five of his last six games, and should continue to try to carry the load with CP3 likely out. Tristan Thompson is underrated, and has gone for 33+ in three of his last four games. Going against the Pistons he should continue that.

Center
  1. DeMarcus Cousins
  2. Nikola Pekovic
  3. Nikola Vucevic
Value Play - Amar’e Stoudemire
DMC has another great matchup, so we have him at the top of our list. He is a risky play though. He hasn’t been that great in his last four games, but we think PHI is the matchup he needs to get going again. Pekovic faces a Lakers team that could possibly have no Howard, but if they do we aren’t worried. He went for 31 against the Clippers the other night. Vucevic is back on our radar with Big Baby out for the season and he should be on yours too. He is underpriced on pretty much every site.
