Jeff Samardzija is Turning Into Real Deal

The Cubs would have been fine with just the RBI single from Alfonso Soriano in the top of the 1st inning, as Jeff Samardzija threw a complete game shutout, allowing just 2 hits and striking out 8. Over his last 3 starts Samardzija is 2-1, throwing 24 innings, allowing 10 hits, 3 runs, 5 walks and striking out 23 batters. His record is only 3-6 but his 2.85 ERA and 1.05 WHIP are much better than that.
