We want Moore. Like, you really like it. You want Moore

Matt Moore moved to 8-0 in 9 starts this season as the Rays swept the Orioles this weekend at Camden Yards.  Moore lasted 7 innings and allowed a single run to score while striking out 3 Birds.  Luke Scott and Matt Joyce provided enough pop to give Matt the W.  Moore lowered his ERA to 2.29 and his WHIP is now just 1.09 with opponents hitting .175 against him.  The 23 year old lefty made it past the 6th inning for just the 3rd time this season.  Fernando Rodney picked up his 8th save.

The firs two games of this series were all offense as the Rays outscored the Orioles 22-16.  Kelly Johnson hit 2 home runs and Joyce hit another for Tampa while Adam Jones, Chris Davis, and J.J. Hardy homered for Baltimore.  Joyce and Johnson each had 5 RBI during these two games. 

Jair Jurrjens made his first start as a member of the Orioles and lasted 5 innings giving up 4 runs, but he was pitching very well in AAA so expect his numbers to improve in his next start.  Alex Torres got called up when David Price went down and come in in relief for Roberto Hernandez who struggled through 2 innings.  Torres pitched 4 shut out innings and ended up earning the W.  He didn't allow a hit but did walk 2 while striking out 3.

Miguel Cabrera proved once again why he is the greatest baseball player in the world as he smashed 3 home runs last night off Rangers pitching, and yet the Tigers still managed to lose the game!  Cabrera now has 47 RBI!  Texas took 3 of 4 from Detroit.  Neither Doug Fister nor Derek Holland managed to get through 5 innings with both throwing over 100 pitches.  Joe Nathan saved his 13th game of the season on Sunday.

Mitch Moreland picked up 5 hits and 6 RBI on 2 doubles and his 10th home run.

Adrian Beltre used 8 hits to raise his average from .265 to .291.

Lance Berkman had 7 hits and is now hitting .311.

Yu Darvish and Justin Verlander pitched on Thursday and Darvish was wonderful while Verlander didn't even last 3 innings!

Jose Valverde earned his 4th save in the Tigers lone win.

The Oakland Athletics swept the Kansas City Royals in a 3 game series that featured three 1 run games.  Grant Balfour picked up his 7th and 8th saves of the season while Ryan Cook got to close the door in the series finale. 

James Shields pitched a complete game, 8 innings, in a 2-1 lose to Jarrod Parker.  Shields is now just 2-4 with a 2.45 ERA.  Josh Donaldson and Adam Rosales hit solo home runs off Shields which sealed the deal for Oakland.

Ervin Santana followed Shields with 7 strong innings in a losing effort in another 2-1 lose.  Santana had a 1-0 lead heading into the 6th when he gave up a sacrifice fly to Jed Lowrie and an RBI triple to Brandon MossTommy Milone picked up his 4th win for the A's.

Alex Gordon picked up 6 hits this weekend and is now hitting .343.

Seattle and Cleveland started a 4 game series on Friday night and the Indians won all 3 games over the weekend.  Yesterday, Justin Masterson shut out the Mariners over 7 innings striking out 11 batters, out dueling Felix Hernandez.  Hernandez allowed 5 earned runs over 5 innings and his ERA jumped to 2.07!  Masterson lowered his ERA to 2.83 and raised his K:9 to 9.1.  The series wraps up this afternoon in Cleveland.

Kendrys Morales (5), Justin Smoak (2) and Raul Ibanez (7,8) homered for the Mariners.

Drew Stubbs (5), Jason Kipnis (7), Mark Reynolds (12) and Michael Brantley (2) homered for the Indians.

Brantley had a 4 RBI day while Reynolds and Kipnis each had 3 RBI days.

The Boston Red Sox are now 10 games over .500 after a 3 game sweep of the Minnesota Twins.  David Ortiz lead the way for the Sox with 8 hits, 2 home runs and 7 RBI.  Big Papi is hitting .364. 

Daniel Nava continues to produce and had 2 hits in each game, including his 6th home run and raised his RBI total to 27!

John Lackey was the only Red Sox starter to earn a W.

The Angels and White Sox split a 4 game set at Angel Stadium, but Chris Sale was able to dominate the Halos over 7.2 innings of shut out ball striking out 12 batters.  Addison Reed was able to pick up his 13th and 14th saves.  Jason Vargas shut out the Sox on Sunday over 7 innings allowing Ernesto Frieri to pick up his 9th save.

Alex Rios homered twice, and Adam Dunn added a long ball, both now have 10 on the year.

Albert Pujols, Mark Trumbo and Alberto Callaspo each hit home runs for the Angels.

Mike Trout managed just 1 hit all weekend.

The Yankees and Blue Jays got rained out on Sunday, the Yanks won the other two games by a combined score of 12-2.  David Phelps and Hiroki Kuroda each won their starts for the Bronx Bombers and Robinson Cano had a 2 home run 4 RBI night.
