Diamondbacks 5 v Rangers 9: Brandon McCarthy struggles again, giving up six earned runs while only lasting 2.2 innings. Justin Grimm was the winning pitcher for Texas, giving up two earned runs in six innings. Nelson Cruz, AJ Pierzynski, and Adrian Beltre all hit doubles for the Rangers and Mitch Moreland and Daniel Murphy added home runs. Paul Goldschmidt hit a double for Arizona and Martin Prado had two RBI (Texas won the series 1-0).

Athletics 2 v Giants 5: The battle for the Bay tied as Barry Zito pitched six innings of one run ball for his fourth win and Sergio Romo collected his 14th save. Brandon Crawford and Brandon Belt had doubles for the Giants. Coco Crisp hit a double and stole a base for the Athletics (The series split 1-1).
Mets 3 v Yankees 1: Dillon Gee struck out twelve batters and allowed only one run in 7.1 innings. Bobby Parnell pitched a perfect ninth with one strike out to record his ninth save of the season. Marlon Byrd hit his sixth home run of the season for the Mets. Robinson Cano hit a home run for the Yankees (The New York Mets swept the series 2-0).
Nationals 0 v Orioles 2: Freddy Garcia threw eight shut out innings on only three hits. Jim Johnson pitched a perfect ninth with one strikeout to earn his 17th save. Nate McLouth x2, Nick Markakis, and Manny Machado had doubles for the Orioles. Dan Haren pitched well, but he took the loss for the Nationals, going 7.1 innings and allowing only two runs. The Nationals did not register a single extra base hit (Baltimore swept the series 2-0).
Reds 1 v Indians 7: Scott Kazmir pitched seven innings of one run ball on eight hits and one walk. Homer Bailey got roughed up, giving up seven earned runs over only 3.2 innings. Ryan Raburn, Michael Bourn, and Asdrubal Cabrera all had doubles for the Indians. Jay Bruce, Brandon Philips, and Devin Mesoraco all had doubles for the Reds (Cleveland swept the series 2-0).
Tigers 0 v Pirates 1: Pittsburgh won this game in the bottom of the eleventh. Doug Fister pitched seven innings of superb ball for the Tigers, giving up zero runs while striking out twelve. Blue Jays 3 v Braves 11: Mike Minor gave up two earned runs over seven innings to earn the win for the Braves. RA Dickey continued to struggle giving up six earned runs on eleven hits and one walk over six innings. Freddie Freeman and Reed Johnson hit home runs for the Braves. Rays 5 v Marlins 2: Alex Colome picked up his first win and Fernando Rodney earned his 11th save of the season for the Rays. Ricky Nolasco gave up three earned runs over 6.2 innings on four hits and four walks. Desmond Jennings and Ben Zobrist hit doubles and Matt Joyce and James Loney hit home runs for the Rays. Brewers 6 v Twin 8: Kyle Lohse lost for the sixth time, giving up six earned runs on eight hits and one walk over 4.2 innings. PJ Walters earned his second win for the Twins. Chris Parmelee, Brian Dozier, Joe Mauer, and Ryan Doumit all homered for the Twins. Jeff Bianchi, Logan Schafer, and Rickie Weeks hit doubles for the Brewers (Minnesota swept the series 2-0).
