The Milwaukee Bucks have completed a sign and trade with Detroit Pistons, sending Brandon Jennings to the Motor City in exchange for Brandon Knight, Khris Middleton and Slava Kravtsov. Jennings will sign a 3 year $24mil extension with the Pistons. I think we will see the best of Jennings this season, as he will be playing with his friend Josh Smith. The Pistons are going to be competitive in the Eastern Conference while the Bucks end up at the top of the lottery.
I can't understand why the Bucks Front Office has made the moves they made over the past 2 seasons. First, they trade Andrew Bogut and Stephen Jackson to the Golden State Warriors for Monta Ellis, who is no longer with the team and Ekpe Udoh. They signed Ersan Ilyasova to a 5 year $40mil extension and are now forced to build around him, when in reality he was the one that should have been dealt. Next, they traded for J.J. Redick and sent Tobias Harris to the Magic. Redick is now a member of the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for two 2nd round picks. Then they go out and sign OJ Mayo to the exact same deal that Jennings just signed with Detroit and Zaza Pachulia for 3 years and $15mil.
I do like the potential of their front court with Larry Sanders and John Henson and 1st round draft pick Giannis Antetokounmpo has drawn huge raves, but they are SO FAR removed from being competitive, that Mayo, Ilyasova and most like one of Henson/Sanders wont even be a part of the club once he is ready to contribute on the NBA level.
I am glad I'm not a Bucks fans these days!
