Tonight Homer Bailey threw his second no-hitter just 18 starts apart! Back on September 28th, 2012 Bailey threw his first career no-hitter against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Homer made one more start last season, before the playoffs and has now made 17 starts this season. He is just 5-6 over those starts, but 12 times has held his opponent to 3 or less earned runs, including 6 starts in which he left the game without allowing an earned run. 127 starts into his Major League career, Homer Bailey has been as up and down as the rest of them, but has really flipped the switch over the past two seasons. At 27 years old, Bailey will never be the franchise player the Reds thought they drafted with the 7th overall pick in the 2004 draft, but he has proved himself an above average MLB starter and a key piece to the Big Red Machine winning a World Series anytime soon.
