Unlike last week, when we had great games and finishes around the NFL, Week 3 seemed like it was blowout after blowout, minus the Miami Dolphins win over the Atlanta Falcons. The Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning continued to make opposing defenses looked confused as Peyton connected on 32 of his 37 pass attempts for 374 yards and 3 scores while the team rushed for over 160 yards and a TD!
The odd thing in this one was that Demaryius Thomas played Wes Welker's role collecting a team high 10 completions and 11 targets, but failed to score and gained just 94 yards. Welker on the other hand caught 7 passes for 84 yards and a TD. Oh and remember when everyone thougth Eric Decker was the man out in Denver after Week 1? Last night he caught 8 balls for 133 yards and TD. Julius Thomas caught a TD for the 3rd straight game and is a must start in all league formats.
The running backs split carries and Ronnie Hillman and Monte Ball really got the best of the Raiders. Hillman took just 9 carries 66 yards and scored while Ball got 11 carries and went 61 yards. Knowshon Moreno took a team high 12 carries but gained just 39 yards. Hillman and Moreno each caught a pass. Ball lost another fumble.
Darren McFadden owners should be happy to know that even though he rushed for just 9 yards on 12 carries, Run DMC rushed for a touchdown and threw a TD pass to Marcel Reece!
Terrell Pryor had a decent game completing 19 of his 28 pass attempts for 281 yards and the key thing here is that he did not throw an interception. He also added 36 rushing yards. Denarius Moore did catch a 73 yard TD, but it was due to two Broncos colliding, attempting to make the tackle. However, 73 yards and a TD is still 73 yards and a TD. Moore finished with 6 catches for 124 yards and the score.
Matt Prater knocked down all 3 field goals including a 53 yarder.
