Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 8

Between Week 7 injuries and the 6 teams on a BYE week, fantasy owners are going to have to dig deep into the waiver wire pile for some help.  Arian Foster, Ray Rice, Trent Richardson, Matt Forte, Chris Johnson and Ryan Mathews are all off this week so finding a running back wil be EXTREMELY difficult.

QB

Terrelle Pryor - Before the season I wrote about Pryor playing an important role this fantasy football season, during BYE weeks.  A matchup with the Steelers probably isn't ideal, but outside of a bad game against the Jaguars, of all teams, Pryor has been pretty consistent.

Mike Glennon - Glennon is hooking up with Vincent Jackson on the deep ball, which is making him a decent fantasy football BYE week player.  No Doug Martin, due to injury, so the Bucs will air it out this week against the Carolina Panthers stout D.  Not like that really matter as Glennon has yet to start a game in which he did not throw 40 passes.

RB

Joseph Randle - Randle rushed for 65 yards, but lost a goal line TD to Philip Tanner.  If DeMarco Murray is out this week, give Randle another go.

Roy Helu - Helu scored 3 times last week in a shootout with the Bears, all while Alfred Morris saw his normal work load

Pierre Thomas - Thomas is a PPR only guys with 29 receptions this season.

Peyton Hillis - Hillis actually caught the check downs from Eli, something that hasn't happened for the Giants in a long time.  He has a place in fantasy if Brandon Jacobs stays sidelined

Daniel Thomas - Thomas saw more carries than Lamar Miller last week and averaged 5 yards per.  The Patriots are the worst in the NFL at stopping the run

Zac Stacy - If the Rams want to stay competitive without Sam Bradford, they will need to establish a run game.  Stacy will continue to get the opportunity to be the man in St. Louis

Willis McGahee - With 6 teams on a BYE, all with 1st and 2nd round RBs on roster, you need to play the guys that will step on the field this week.

Mike James - Doug Martin out, rookie Mike James in.

WR

Harry Douglas - Douglas blew up in the 1st half last week and finished with 7 catches for 149 yards and TD.  You would have to imagine that a Roddy White return makes Douglas' job easier so get him in your lineup against the Cardinals

Julian Edelman - Rob Gronkowski had 10 more targets than any other Patriot last week, as expect.  But Edelman and Aaron Dobson had 7 a piece.  Edelman is a PPR only option

Terrance Williams - Williams has just 28 targets on the season, but has caught 24 of them and scored in 3 straight weeks

Jeremy Kerley - Kerley is the best WR on the New York Jets

Jarrett Boykin - Boykin had 8 catches for 103 yards and caught a TD last week.  Worth a weekly go as long as James Jones is out

Percy Harvin * - Returned to practice and will be available soon, it's time to stash!  Chances are you missed out on stashing Shane Vereen at RB

TE

Jordan Reed - 9 catches for 134 yards and a score for Reed in that shootout with the Bears, Reed is finally a threat and worth a go in fantasy.  The Redskins should find themselves in another shootout with the Broncos this week

Tyler Eifert - The Bengals two TE offense has made Eifert a decent TE2.  Andy Dalton doesn't mind throwing to all of his options so if you are stuck at TE, Eifert could help in non-PPR

Charles Clay - Good for a TD as he has 1 in each of the Dolphins last 3 games.  A solid red zone option

DEF

Carolina Panthers - Carolina is a top 5 defense and Tampa Bay will be without Doug Martin

New Orleans Saints - C.J. Spiller is not healthy and Fred Jackson is playing through injuries, while E.J. Manuel is sidelined.  Rob Ryan's D could do damage against the Bills

Atlanta Falcons - Carson Palmer is terrible, and the Cardinals don't run the ball well
