The NFL season is now entering it's second quarter, but it is still way to early to start making drastic changes. One thing for sure that will not change, is the New Orleans Saints offense scoring points. Last night Drew Brees picked apart the Miami Dolphins secondary with some quick strikes to Darren Sproles and some big plays to Jimmy Graham and Marques Colston. When the night was over, Brees completed 30 of his 39 pass attempts for over 400 yards and 4 scores. A near perfect fantasy day. Sproles racked up 7 completions for 114 yards and two scores, including a rushing TD. Colston grabbed 7 for 96 yards while Jimmy Graham scored 2 times on 4 receptions for 100 yards.
The New Orleans Saints defense is not the one we are used to. Rob Ryan has really turned things around and even though they have trouble stopping the run, the Saints offense forces opposing teams to throw the ball anyway. New Orleans is 5th in the NFL in passing yards allowed, and they have 12 sacks and 7 interceptions and have yet to give up 20 points. The Bears and Patriots will really test this Defense in the coming weeks, both road games!
Ryan Tannehill really hurt the Dolphins with 3 interceptions yesterday and a silly fumble when all he had to do was slide. He has nice chemistry with Brandon Gibson and Charles Clay as both have 20 receptions. Brian Hartline leads the team with 21 receptions, 271 yards and 2 TDs. Mike Wallace on the other hand has just 15 receptions for less than 200 yards!
Lamar Miller needs to get more touches! The guy is averaging over 4.5 yards per carry and yet has just 43 attempts in 4 games! He is not involved in the passing game, so in order for him to be fantasy relevant, he will need an increase in touches. Hold on for a while longer and even try to get him cheap with the BYE weeks coming and your need for an extra RB!
