Buffalo Bills Backs Hurt In Victory

The Buffalo Bills beat the Baltimore Ravens yesterday by a field goal, but saw both running backs C.J. Spiller (leg) and Fred Jackson (knee) leave the field with injuries.  This on a day the Bills rushed the ball 55 times!  Spiller got 23 carries, Jackson saw 16 and EJ Manuel took off 11 times.  As a team they rushed for over 200 yards, with Jackon leading the way gaining 87 and was the only one to score a touchdown.  Tashard Choice will get a bump in touches on Thursday Night Football.

Spiller did have an X-Ray done on his left ankle, but was told by staff his ankle was not broken.  Jackson has an MCL sprain and that knocked him out for the season last year.  With the Bills playing the Cleveland Browns on Thursday, my suggestion is to find other RBs for Week 5!  The BYE week will see Adrian Peterson, Doug Martin, Le'Veon Bell and Alfred Morris sitting so make sure you put in a waiver claim!

Cleveland Browns are 2-0 without Trent Richardson

In a nearly impossible scenario, the Browns are now 2-0 since trading Richardson to the Indianapolis Colts.  They held a potent Cincinnati Bengals offense to just 6 points, and Jordan Cameron now has 16 receptions for 157 yards and 4 touchdowns since Trent left town.

NFL Player Eliminator Week 4

I put up back to back 100 point week with help from Matt Ryan, Adrian Peterson, Joique Bell, Calvin Johnson and the Seattle Seahawks defense.  How did you do?

This week the Indianapolis Colts Andrew Luck (20.8%) and the Denver Broncos Peyton Manning (19.9%) are the top selected QBs with matchups against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Philadelphia Eagles respectively.   Because I am not a fan of the other QB matchups this week, I am going with Luck, as I have already used Peyton.  With Trent Richardson and Ahmad Bradshaw in the backfield, Andrew Luck's life has NEVER been easier.  This game won't be a close one but hopefully the Colts can score early and often with some big pass plays!

Thinking 'Bout Thursday - St. Louis Rams vs San Francisco 49ers

The St. Louis Rams have major offensive line issues.  That is clearly visible when watching 3 and 4 man rush after rush get to Sam Bradford and Daryl Richardson fight for 3 yards at a time.  Bradford has now been sacked 11 times in the last two games!  At this point in time, I would suggest staying away from all Rams players for fantasy football.  The only way you can tell yourself it's ok is if you are in a 14+ team PPR league and you are playing Austin Pettis or Tavon Austin.

St. Louis rushed 19 times for 18 yards.  Ewww.

Colin Kaepernick rebounded nicely in this one completing 15 of his 23 pass attempts, for 167 yards, finding Anquan Boldin (5 catches 90 yards) and Vernon Davis (2 catches 18 yards) for TDs.  This on a night where there Niners running backs were having a field day on the ground!  Frank Gore took 20 carries 153 yards and found the endzone, Kendall Hunter added 49 yards on 11 carries and a score and Anthony Dixon vultured a 1 yard TD away from Gore.

This was not a pretty game by any means, but the important players put up some decent fantasy points which is all we care about!

What did you take away from Thursday Night?

Josh Freeman Walks the Plank

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have decided to go in a different direction at QB Week 4, benching Josh Freeman and starting rookie Mike Glennon.  This is huge news for Vincent Jackson, Mike Williams, and even Doug Martin owners!

Freeman burst onto the season in 2010 with 25 touchdowns and just 6 interceptions.  Since then he has thrown 42 interceptions, and just 45 touchdowns while completing 58% of his passes for his career. Over 3 games this season, Josh has just 43 completions for 571 yards, 2 TDs and 3 INTs.

Glennon was drafted out of North Carolina State and could make a big impact on this pretty powerful Tampa offense.  He is worth a go during BYE weeks.

Nate Burleson Breaks Arm - Out at least a Month

The Detroit Lions will be without WR Nate Burleson for a month or so, after he broke his arm in a car accident.  Nate was having a nice PPR season with 19 receptions, good for 11th in the NFL, but had failed to score a TD.  Ryan Broyles should see an increase in snaps but with the Chicago Bears coming to town Week 4, expect him and Matthew Stafford to struggle.  Calvin Johnson should see a ton of double teams, so Reggie Bush (if healthy) and Joique Bell should see an increase in targets as well.  Hey, this could even spark a nice outing for Brandon Pettigrew, but doubtful!

Monday Night Glory - Broncos vs Raiders

Unlike last week, when we had great games and finishes around the NFL, Week 3 seemed like it was blowout after blowout, minus the Miami Dolphins win over the Atlanta Falcons.  The Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning continued to make opposing defenses looked confused as Peyton connected on 32 of his 37 pass attempts for 374 yards and 3 scores while the team rushed for over 160 yards and a TD!

The odd thing in this one was that Demaryius Thomas played Wes Welker's role collecting a team high 10 completions and 11 targets, but failed to score and gained just 94 yards.  Welker on the other hand caught 7 passes for 84 yards and a TD.  Oh and remember when everyone thougth Eric Decker was the man out in Denver after Week 1?  Last night he caught 8 balls for 133 yards and TD.  Julius Thomas caught a TD for the 3rd straight game and is a must start in all league formats.

Cleveland Browns Looking to Trade Josh Gordon

The Cleveland Browns are not even a full week removed from trading their starting running back and are already listening to trade offers on their top WR Josh Gordon. This after a 10 catch, 19 target, 146 yard TD game against the Minnesota Vikings. Clearly Cleveland is upset they won this week and want to do everything in their power to be terrible and land the top draft pick in this years draft. Do you want your favorite NFL team trading for a headcase like Josh Gordon? Clearly he can ball, but according to Rotoworld, he is one strike away from a full year suspension!

Sunday Funday Xpress

Air It Out

  • Only 6 QBs threw for at least 300 yards and what may only happen one time this season, Ben Roethlisberger led the NFL in passing Week 3 with 406 yards!
  • Brian Hoyer was on that list of QBs who tossed 300+ yards.  Robert Griffin III and Hoyer were the only QBs to complete 30+ passes and both attempted at least 50
  • Russell Wilson tossed 4 touchdowns and like Philip Rivers in Week 1, had to complete just 14 passes!

Ground and Pound

  • 5 running backs rushed for at least 100 yards, led by DeMarco Murray's 175 yards
  • Bilal Powell led all backs with 27 carries, thanks to a Chris Ivory injury.  Powell gained 149 yards but failed to score a TD
  • 9 different RBs got at least 20 carries
  • Christian Ponder was the only player to rush for 2 TDs

Stretch the Field

Who Are You?

  • Jonathan Franklin made a name for himself with 103 rushing yards on 13 carries and a rushing TD.  Franklin finished the game after last weeks craze James Starks left the game with an injury
  • Last season, the Seattle Seahawks rarely, if ever, looked at their TE as a passing option.  In yesterday's win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, Luke Wilson caught 5 passes for 76 yards and Zack Miller caught 2 TDs!
  • Brian Hoyer made his season debut and threw 3 TDs and 3 INTs.  He QBd the same team that scored just 16 points over the first 2 weeks.   While they did gain Josh Gordon this week, they lost Trent Richardson, which to me would be a bigger loss then gain, but obviously not for the Browns!  They rushed for 103 yards on just 17 carries.  These limited carries were split between Bobby Rainey, Willis McGahee, Chris Obgonnaya, Hoyer, Gordon and Josh Aubrey.  And yes, somehow this team beat the Minnesota Vikings.

Thinking 'Bout Thursday - Eagles vs Chiefs

Last night was a classic tale of a football team beating themselves.  The Philadelphia Eagles looked like the better team, offensively (for most of the night), but turnovers will kill you.  First Damaris Johnson muffs a punt and the Chiefs recover and turn it into 3 points, then Michael Vick follows that up with a Pick Six and the Chiefs jump out to a QUICK 10-0 lead.  The Eagles respond with a beautiful drive that lasted less then 2 minutes thanks to a 61 yard run by Mike Vick and a 22 yard TD pass to Jason Avant.  83 yards on 2 plays, that's what Philly DO!  Oh, but then the center decided to snap the ball off his own ass while Vick was set up in shotgun and the Chiefs recovered, and pick up 3 more points and then Vick gets sack fumbled and Ryan Succop kicks his 3rd FG of the 1st half.  Kansas City led 16-6 at half time but it was LeSean McCoy and his injury scare that was all the talk during the intermission.  Vick would throw one more interception in the second half that sealed the deal for the Chiefs.  A 3 yard Jamaal Charles TD run and Succop's 4th FG of the game gave the Chiefs a 10 point victory.

LeSean McCoy Watch: Possible Leg Injury

UPDATE: McCoy came back in the second half and looked better than he did in the first, but after the game he told the media he had a right ankle sprain.  With 10 days before the Eagles next game, Shady should be just fine, but boy was that scary!

Thursday Night Football has just turned into tragedy for the Philadelphia Eagles and Fantasy Owners everywhere!  LeSean McCoy was last seen rolling on the ground grabbing what looked like his shin and he did not look comfortable!  He was able to walk off/run off, but it did not look good.  More to come, STAY TUNED!  Half time will have a very important report!

Browns Trade Trent Richardson to Colts

In a rare NFL midseason trade, the Cleveland Browns have shipped Trent Richardson to the Indianapolis Colts for a 1st round draft pick!  This INSTANTLY makes Richardson more valuable, as soon as he learn the Colts playbook that is!  Ahmad Bradshaw must not be healthy or something, but this is a great move for the Colts who can easily make the playoffs this season.  Rumor has it the Browns will sign Willis McGahee

Top 3 Defenses for NFL Week 3

Seattle Seahawks

This pick is an absolute no-brainer. Here in the early going, the Seahawks' defensive unit has lived up to expectations and been the most dominant in the entire NFL. In consecutive victories over Carolina and San Francisco to start the season, Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn's crew has allowed a mere 10 points and an average of 230 yards per game. The Seahawks have also forced a league high seven turnovers. Going up against the NFL's weakest offense should be a veritable walk in the park.

Playing nearly two complete games without scoring a single touchdown, the Jaguars offense reached the end zone for the first time with just under three minutes left to go in their 19-9 Week 2 loss to the Raiders. Jacksonville is now 0-2 after putting up just 11 total points and averaging a meager 213 yards per contest so far. A trip to Seattle, possibly the absolute toughest location for a visiting team to play, is definitely not what is needed for a team looking to right the ship. This game could get ugly in a hurry.

NFL Player Eliminator Week 3

I had a much better go at it in Week 2 with Peyton Manning, LeSean McCoy, DeSean Jackson, and the Oakland Raiders defense leading me to 101 points.  How did you do?

This is the perfect week to pick Matt Ryan (0.6%) as your QB.  The Dolphins aren't that tough of a matchup and without Steven Jackson, Ryan could attempt 45+ pass attempts!  Peyton Manning (32.9%) and Russell Wilson (18.6%) are the most popular choices, but a blowout awaits both the Broncos/Raiders and Seahawks/Jaguars matchups and second half handoffs seem highly likely!

Which is exactly why Marshawn Lynch (47.6%) and Knowshon Moreno (23.9%) are this weeks top two RBs!  I on the other hand will be taking Adrian Peterson (21.2%) this week against the Browns and Joique Bell (7.7%) against the Redskins.  It doesn't even matter who Peterson is going up against, but I like the fact that the Browns offense is so terrible and Brandon Weeden will not be under center, which should put the Vikings on offense quite often.  As far as Bell goes, Reggie Bush might not even play in this one, and even if he does, as soon as the Lions build a lead, Bush will be resting on the sidelines!

Fav QB Matchup
Andy Dalton vs Packers

If there was ever a matchup that Andy Dalton needed it's this one.  The Packers are one of the worst in the league at stopping their opponents and with they way they score points, Cincy will be forced to air it out.  Andy threw for 280 yards and completed 25 passes against a much better Steelers defense last week,   The Packers have just 3 sacks and a single interception so Dalton and the Bengals should have some fun on offense.

Steven Jackson - Could Miss 2-4 Weeks

The Atlanta Falcons could be without newly acquire RB Steven Jackson for the next month, due to a thigh injury he suffered in Week 2.  Jackson had stud fantasy season written all over him in the Falcons prolific offense, but this injury will force Atlanta to rely on Jacquizz Rodgers and Jason Snelling in the backfield.  Rodgers COULD be a beast in this offense if he can catch some balls in open space but as a running back in the NFL he has yet to impress.  He has rushed for just 583 yards on 164 career rushing attempts, and has scored twice.  He has also caught 2 touchdowns and hauled in 79 career receptions for 621 yards.  Snelling should see all the goalline carries, so for me Rodgers is only valuable in PPR leagues.  This is actually pretty exciting news for Julio Jones, Roddy White, Tony Gonzalez and Matt Ryan owners, as the Falcons should become a pass heavy offense.

With Ray Rice, Reggie Bush & Steven Jackson potentially out Week 3, Bernard Pierce, Joique Bell and Jason Snelling / Jacquizz Rodgers could see a boost in targets this week.   Charles Clay now has back to back 5 reception games.  Is this a thing now?!  Probably not!

Monday Night Glory - Bengals vs Steelers

Last night's Monday Night Football contest between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers wrapped up a great weekend of NFL action.  Giovani Bernard was the MVP in this one with his first NFL rushing TD and later catching a short pass and taking it 27 yards to the endzone.  BenJarvus Green-Ellis was still the teams workhorse, with 22 carries for 75 yards, but much like the way C.J. Spiller and Jamaal Charles were introduced to the league, Bernard is going to make the most of his limited touches.

Andy Dalton completed 25 of his 45 attempts for 280 yards, connecting with both A.J. Green (14 targets) and Jermaine Gresham (9) 6 times.  Mohamed Sanu (8) was able to bring in 5 receptions.

The Steelers struggled on offense as expected, but Felix Jones was the Steelers running back for the night after Isaac Redman got injured on the kickoff.  Jones took just 10 carries, 37 yards.  The Steelers face the Chicago Bears next so avoid him at all costs!

Ben Roethlisberger completed 20 passes for 250 yards with 6 going to Antonio Brown and 5 to Emmanuel Sanders.  Brown was only able to manage 57 yards while Sanders racked up 78 including one ALMOST TD on a 43 yard pass play but was tackled from behind at the 1!  That play set up a 1-yd fade to Derek Moye, the 6'5 rookie out of Penn St.

Outside of Giovani, there was little done in this matchup to help any fantasy owners, unless of course you have the Bengals defense!  They sacked Big Ben twice, picked him off once and scooped up a fumble from David Paulson all while holding Pittsburgh to just 10 points!

NFL Player Eliminator Week 2

How did your first week go? Marshawn Lynch,  Roddy White and Kyle Rudolphs killed me!  I had Matthew Stafford and Anquan Boldin...could have had a huge week.  Instead I ended upwith 83 points.

ESPN has come out with a new fantasy football challenge and it's one and done survival mode, so build your roster wisely!

Sunday Update: Aaron Rodgers (8.4%) and Michael Vick (18.9%) were the weeks top QBs both going over 30 points

Obviously I do not expect Peyton Manning (4.5%) to toss 7 TDs again, but against the New York Giants secondary, it is possible.  Demaryius Thomas, Wes Welker, Julius Thomas, and Eric Decker are just to much for the Giants D to handle, actually for any D in the NFL to handle.  Take advantage of these guys while everyone is healthy!  Terrelle Pryor is the #1 QB this week at 22.6% but as I mentioned last week, there is no need to selected a QB like him as your only need 17 all season long!  I love Pryor's potential, but not so much for an eliminator challenge!  Right behind him in Tom Brady (13%) against the New York Jets.  Probably a better option this week.

Air It Out

  • Eleven quaterbacks tossed for 300+ yards on Sunday, including Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill.
  • Aaron Rodgers (4 TDs), Philip Rivers (3) & Michael Vick (2) each threw for over 400 yards!
  • Sam Bradford led all QBs in pass attempts with 55
  • A mix of 19 players hauled in 100+ receiving yards, led by Desean Jackson and his 193 on 9 receptions.
  • Julian Edelman set the bar this week on Thursday Night Football with 13 receptions and 5 others caught at least 10 passes including RB Matt Forte (11) and TE Jimmy Graham (10).

Royal Flush

  • Eddie Royal backed up his 2 TD Week 1 performance with 3 more in Week 2!  If he was not picked up last week off waivers in your league, he is worth putting in a claim for!  He caught 7 passes for 90 yards this week!

Ground and Pound

  • Just 6 RBs got 20+ carries this week, including Green Bay Packers running back James StarksEddie Lacy took a blow to the head and was forced to leave this one early.  Don't fall in love with Starks!
  • Doug Martin led the way with 29 carries and fantasy favorites Marshawn Lynch (28), Adrian Peterson (26), Chris Johnson (25) & DeAngelo Williams (22) joined him as the only other backs to get 20+ carries.
  • Six backs rushed for at least 100 yards including Darren McFadden who reached 100 yards just 3 times all last season/.
  • Knowshon Moreno took advantage of playing time with 2 rushing touchdowns from 20+ yards out picking up 93 yards on 13 carries.

Is There a Doctor in the House?!

Before kickoff Sunday, news was spreading about Danny Amendola possibly needing surgery for a sports hernia that could keep him out for up to a month!  Then the games started and it seemed like everyone was seen walking to the locker room with a trainer!
  • Ray Rice left with a hip flexor strain and Bernard Pierce ended up with 57 yards and TD.
  • Steven Jackson got just 3 carries before leaving the game, but thankfully caught a TD pass from Matt Ryan and not totally killing fantasy owners.  No update on the severity of the injury.
  • Eddie Lacy was knocked out by a hit to the head on his first carry of the day and James Starks filled in to rush for 132 yards and a TD and caught 4 passes.
  • Reggie Bush took a helmet to the knee but was able to stay in the game, be it mostly on the sidelines.
  • Maurice Jones-Drew played gingerly with an ankle injury that will be examined today.
  • Andre Johnson left the Texans overtime win due to a possible concussion and left the door wide open for rookie WR DeAndre Hopkins to leave his mark, catching the game winning TD.  Hopkins caught 7 passes for 117 yards and the score.  Absolutely worth an add to your fantasy football roster.
  • Larry Fitzgerald's hamstring really limited him in Week 2 but he should be fine for Week 3.
  • Malcom Floyd was carted off the field on a stretcher but should be just fine.
  • Vernon Davis left Sunday Night's mess of a game with a hamstring injury and did not return.

Colts Lose Vick Ballard for Season

The Indianapolis Colts will be without second year RB Vick Ballard for the remainder of the season after suffering a knee injury during practice.  Ballard was a favorite of ours after his 814 yard rookie campaign.  Ahmad Bradshaw is now the Colts #1 RB and Donald Brown will play the vulture role.  If Bradshaw is healthy, he can really put up huge numbers with the pass attack that is already established in Indy thanks to Andrew Luck and Reggie Wayne.

Thinking 'Bout Thursday - Patriots vs Jets

The New England Patriots should have won this game by a lot more than 3 points, but Tom Brady got no help from Aaron Dobson, despite the TD, which by the way was a beautiful play to watch unfold.  A couple drives later, Dobson dropped a pass while running towards the sideline and on the very next play, drops a deep pass that he had before falling to the ground.  There is a silver lining however, because Dobson was open all night.  Once he learns how to catch the football, he should prove to be a favorite target of, as the NFL Network broadcast like to remind us, the future hall of famer Brady.   Ok there was a lot more going on than just Dobson being DROPson, but it's fun to point blame on a rookie making his NFL debut!

Top 3 Defenses for NFL Week 2

Houston Texans

On the back of a 17 point 4th quarter rally which included a Randy Bullock 41 yard game-winning field goal as time expired, the Texans secured a season opening 31-28 win versus the Chargers on Monday Night Football. The final score in this one was definitely closer than most had envisioned as very few thought that San Diego quarterback Phillip Rivers would toss four touchdown passes. However, Houston did manage to limit their opponents offense to just 263 total yards while picking up a couple of sacks and returning an interception for a score.

With the Titans up next, the Texans' defense should be in top form. Tennessee was able to grab a         surprising 16-9 victory against the banged up Steelers in Week 1, but it was not due to their offense which managed a meager 229 yards and crossed the goal-line just once. In addition, third year QB Jake Locker did little to provide evidence of any off-season maturation completing just 11 of 20 attempts for 125 yards and doing very little with his legs. Look for J.J. Watt and company to take care of business in this one.

Mike Vick sure did look comfortable running Chip Kelly's offense in the first half of Monday night's game against the Redskins and the Chargers pass defense could not stop Matt Schaub and the Texans, despite a 21 point lead and knowing they were going to abandon the run. Schaub completed 34-45 for 329 yards and 3 TDs.

Danny Amendola to Miss Week 2

The New England Patriots will most likely be without WR Danny Amendola for Week 2 against the New York Jets.  Amendola was seen limping around in Week 1, left the game, but was able to return and finish playing.  Being that the Patriots are playing on 4 days rest, this is probably the best move to prolong Amendola's ability to be playing come December and the Playoffs.  Even with Amendola on the field in Week 1, Julian Edelman was able to have a big day, so if you were lucky enough to scoop him off waivers after last weeks 7 catch, 79 yard, 2 touchdown performance against the Buffalo Bills, he is a must start this week.

New England will also not have Shane Vereen this week due to wrist surgery!

By the halftime of Monday Night Football, fantasy owners TYPICALLY know if they won their head to head matchup for the week or not.  But last night, Monday Night Football finished off Week 1 of the NFL with an exciting doubleheader which let a lot to be desired.  For the first time all season we got to look at the REAL Philadelphia Eagles offense and they were impressive.  They were snapping the ball with 25 seconds on the play clock and LeSean McCoy and DeSean Jackson looked as quick as ever!  Watching Shady McCoy run all over the field like that should make fantasy owners VERY happy and 184 rushing yards made him this weeks rushing leader.  He also led all RBs in touches which is a GREAT sign of things to come, as long as he stays healthy.  Michael Vick also had himself a night with 2 passing TDs and a rushing touchdown as well.  Things could have been a lot worse for Washington if this insane fumble recovery for a touchdown did not take place.

The second half was a different game completely as at one point in the 4th quarter the broadcast let the viewers know that Vick had completed just one pass since half time.  Vick only ended up passing for 203 yards but rushed for 54.  DeSean Jackson and 7 catches are rarely said in the same sentence but with Jeremy Maclin out, this is Jackson's chance to shine!

Shane Vereen Wrist Injury - Short Term IR

UPDATE: With Vereen on the Short Term IR, he is not eligible to return until Week 11

Less than 24 hours after beating the Buffalo Bills, the New England Patriots receive news that running back Shane Vereen will need wrist surgery.  The surgery is said to keep Vereen out "a few weeks" which could be as little at 2 weeks or as many as 4.  Vereen was the only RB to rush for 100 yards in Week 1, and only Terrelle Pryor rushed for more yards.  Vereen took 21 carries 101 yards and had a long of just 21.  He also caught 7 passes, so he was clearly looking at a monster fantasy season.  This is a good news for Stevan Ridley owners who should receive a boost in touches and also opens the door LeGarrette Blount.  Ridley didn't play a snap after a second quarter fumble, that was returned for a TD.

Other running backs to place waiver wire requests on:

Pierre Thomas - New Orleans Saints
Joique Bell - Detroit Lions

Vulture of the Week - Joique Bell

The Detroit Lions beat the Minnesota Vikings 34-24 on Sunday, and Reggie Bush exploded for 191 all purpose yards and scored on a 77 yard pass play.  But Bush could've had an even bigger day had it not been for Joique Bell taking the ball into the endzone twice from 1 and 2 yards out.  Bell also caught 5 passes out of the backfield for 67 yards.  Bell should continue to see playing time when Mikel Leshoure returns and if Bush ever does go down with an injury, Bell is a must start in all league formats.

Sunday Funday Xpress

Air It Out

  • It started on Thursday Night, with Peyton Manning tossing 7 touchdowns, and continued throughout Sunday with 9 other quarterbacks throwing for 300+ yards, with Eli Manning, Colin Kaepernick and Aaron Rodgers each tossing at least 3 TDs
  • Only 6 teams attempted less than 30 passing attempts
  • A mix of 25 RB/WR/TE had at least 10 targets

Safties in Numbers

  • Just about 20 minutes into kickoff on Sunday the Steelers has 2 points, the Jaguars had 2 points and then Josh Freeman kicked the ball out of the endzone giving the Jets 2 points.  Weird

Pryor to the Snap

  • I told you last week, fantasy owners are going to fall in love with Terrelle Pryor and not only did he have a nice game, but he led the NFL in rushing yards!  Pryor rushed for 112 yards on 13 carries for 5 first downs and twice ran the ball for more than 20 yards.  Once he gets into the endzone his fantasy value is going to skyrocket!
  • Shane Vereen was the only other running back to eclipse 100 rushing yards this week.  That includes Adrian Peterson who had a 78 yard TD run to start the game for the Vikings
  • Chris Johnson was the only RB to see 25 rushing attempts

BOLDin Statement in San Fran

  • Anquan Boldin proved that he is the most underrated WR in the NFL this week in his debut as a Niner.  He caught 13 of his 17 targets for 208 yards and got in the endzone once.  He was being drafted in the 7th round on average this fantasy football draft season, around the 30th WR in each draft

Defense Wins Championships

  • This is true in fantasy football as well, just much harder to figure out where the points will come from each week!  The Miami Dolphins recorded 6 sacks of Brandon Weeden and forced 3 interceptions!  The Dallas Cowboys turned the New York Football Giants over 6 times and scored 2 TDs!  The Kansas City Chiefs got to the Jacksonville Jaguars QBs 6 times as well adding a defensive TD
