Denver Broncos vs Top Defense

The Denver Broncos averaged an incredible 37.9 points per game this season, which was 10 points higher than the Philadelphia Eagles who averaged the second most in the NFL.  The Broncos were the only team to have 5,000 passing yards with 5,444, which was good for 340 yards per game. They also ranked 15th in rushing yards with 117 per game.  Their unstoppable pass game, helps open up holes for running backs Knowshon Moreno and rookie Montee Ball.

Seahawks DE Michael Bennett finished as the 7th best edge rusher according to Pro Football Focus while teammate Brandon Mebane also finished 7th amongst interior pass rushers.  Julius Thomas will have to continue to block well, he ranked 9th best in tight end blocking efficiency,  Seattle's defensive line took home top ranking in pass rushing productivity, but the linebackers ranked below averageBut most importantly, Peyton Manning is protected by the #1 rated offensive line in the game!

Average Offensive Stats

Most offenses have one or two players in the pass game that a defense has to prepare for. The Broncos have 4. Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker, Wes Welker and Julius Thomas all had at least 10 receiving touchdowns.

Demaryius Thomas ranked 4th in the NFL with 1,430 yards on 92 catches. His 14 touchdowns were 2nd in the NFL behind the Saints Jimmy Graham but were most among wide receivers.

Eric Decker was right behind Thomas, with 87 catches, 1,288 yards and 11 touchdowns. He ranked in the top 12 for all three categories among wide receivers.

Despite being inactive for 3 games due to a concussion, Wes Welker still managed to score 10 touchdowns and haul in 73 catches for 778 yards in 13 games. He has been so dangerous over the middle for Tom Brady in previous seasons with the Patriots, and he hasn't missed a beat with Peyton Manning under center for the Broncos.

Tight end Julius Thomas has been the x-factor this season for Peyton and the Broncos. Peyton always relies heavily on his tight ends, and to find somebody whose 6'5 and 250 lbs with the kind of speed and athleticism that Julius has, it's almost unfair to pair him up with Peyton Manning. Thomas finished the year with 65 catches, 788 yards and 12 touchdowns.
