Well I guess the Maurice Jones-Drew era in Jacksonville is officially over. The team has signed free agent Toby Gerhart to a 3 year deal, worth $10.5 mil.

Gerhart has spent the last 4 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings being the backup to Adrian Peterson. During his time with the Vikings, he had 276 carries for 1,305 yards (4.7 avg) and scored 5 touchdowns, while losing 4 fumbles.

Despite turning 27 years old before the 2014 NFL season starts, Gerhart should have fresh legs for the Jaguars being that he was a backup to Peterson. Gerhart is a power running back with breakaway speed and should be the new face of a struggling Jacksonville franchise.
