Daily Fantasy - Start Corey Kluber

UPDATE: Last nights game was rained out and the teams will play a double header on Wednesday.  Given the other pitching matchups tonight, (Tuesday April 8th), we still like Kluber vs Padres.

Corey Kluber lasted just 3.1 innings in his first start of the season for the Cleveland Indians, allowing 8 hits and 5 earned runs to the Oakland Athletics.  But Kluber is a much better pitcher than his first outing and will get the San Diego Padres bats today, who have managed just 12 runs to start the season over 6 games.  Kluber finished last season 5-0 after July and the Indians went 10-2 over his final 12 starts.

Last season at Progressive Field, Kluber won 5 of his 12 starts, striking out 73 batters in 75 innings and walked just 16.  Kluber missed most of August thanks to a sprained finger and still managed to win 11 games for Cleveland.  The only Padres hitter Kluber has faced is Seth Smith and he struck him out in all 3 ABs.

There are only 4 games that start after 7PM tonight so late night Daily Leagues will be slim pickings. Felipe Paulino (White Sox) will get the Colorado Rockies at Coors field and will oppose Jordan Lyles, Tanner Scheppers (Rangers) gets the Red Sox at Fenway and will matchup against John Lackey, and Matt Moore (Rays) gets the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium, which is the other starter I would go with tonight, and will battle Jason Vargas.
