2014 Fantasy Football - Running Back Rankings

Jamaal Charles scored 19 total touchdowns last season making him the top RB in fantasy football. Pierre Thomas, Danny Woodhead, Matt Forte and Darren Sproles all caught more passes than him, but Charles led all RBs in receiving yards and TDs. He also led the NFL in rushing TDs with 12, tied with Marshawn Lynch.

In all, 13 running backs rushed for over 1,000 yards, including rookie Eddie Lacy, on the Green Bay Packers of all teams.  Knowshon Moreno was one of the 13 backs to rush for a grand, but now a member of the Miami Dolphins, you can expect his value to be nothing more than a low end RB2 in 10, 12 team leagues.  Moreno will have to battle Lamar Miller for playing time

Reggie Bush has transformed into a legit running back and over the last 3 seasons (2 with Miami, last year with the Detroit Lions), has rushed for more than 3,000 yards.  His 506 receiving yards in 2013 was his best since his rookie year with New Orleans Saints.

14 running backs caught 50+ passes in 2013, up from 8 in 2012.  Even with Sproles catching 71 passes, Thomas still led the NFL in RB receptions with 77.  With Sproles in Philly wearing an Eagles uniform for Chip Kelly, whose value will be hurt more - LeSean McCoy or Sproles?

Who will take over for Sproles in the Saints backfield?  Will Mark Ingram finally breakout, will Khiry Robinson  be a target, will Thomas get all of the Saints snaps or will rookie WR Brandin Cooks lineup in the backfield?

In the first 2 rounds of a 12 team snake draft, there are usually 14 running backs selected.  How many will be on your roster when round 3 begins?

Who Would You Rather Have - Frank Gore or Toby Gerhart?
