Tonight the NBA tips off the 2014-15 season, with 3 games:

Orlando Magic @ New Orleans Pelicans
Dallas Mavericks @ San Antonio Spurs
Houston Rockets @ Los Angeles Lakers

Each game has their own story line, but for us fantasy basketball players, all we care about is who is going to get some burn tonight!

The Magic Backcourt

After acquiring the draft rights to Elfrid Payton this offseason, the Magic were looking to pair him up with Victor Oladipo.  Unfortunately, Oladipo is out to start the season.  Evan Fournier should get the start next to Payton, while Luke Ridnour and Ben Gordon come off the bench. Remember, Arron Afflalo was traded to the Nuggets for Fournier.

Orlando signed Channing Frye but he is out tonight.  Kyle O'Quinn will get the start in his place. Rookie Aaron Gordon will also make his NBA debut tonight.

Nikola Vucevic could have some trouble tonight going up against Anthony Davis and Omer Asik!

Healthy Pelicans

The Pelicans traded for Jrue Holiday on draft night in 2013, but saw him play in just 34 games due to a stress fracture in his right tibia.  They will also have a healthy Ryan Anderson who missed 60 games with herniated disk.  Eric Gordon missed New Orleans final 14 games and had knee surgery this offseason.  The Pelicans can compete in the West, but they will have to stay healthy to do so.

They added Omer Asik to play next to Anthony Davis and their interior defense might be the best in the NBA.

Tyreke Evans is the only player left on the team who played in at least 70 games last season.

New Look Mavs

The Dallas Mavericks signed Chandler Parsons, Jameer Nelson and Al-Farouq Aminu, while trading away Jose Calderon, Samuel Dalembert, Wayne Ellington and Shane Larkin for Tyson Chandler and Raymond Felton.  Shawn Marion signed with Cleveland to play with LeBron James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving.

The Mavs feature 3 new starts around Dirk Nowitzki and Monta Ellis, which probably wont be a problem as the ball will be in their hands most of the time.

Raising the Banner

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!  Well, Kawhi Leonard is kinda broke, and so is Tiago Splitter and Patty Mills.  The Spurs could start Tony Parker, Marco Belinelli, Danny Green, Boris Diaw and Tim Duncan tonight.

The Spurs were lucky enough to have Kyle Anderson fall to them at pick 30 in the NBA draft, and the rookie could make his debut tonight.

Fear the Beard

The Rockets are all about James Harden and Dwight Howard, but Chandler Parsons is gone and Trevor Ariza is taking his place.  It will be interesting to see how he adjusts to the tempo of the offense, but should thrive in the fast break, must like Parsons did.

The Black Mamba

Even when Kobe doesn't play, the Lakers are still Kobe's team.  Pau Gasol is gone, Steve Nash is out for the season and Jeremy Lin is the new starting PG of the Los Angeles Lakers with Ronnie Price as his backup.  LA also added Carlos Boozer, Ed Davis and drafted Julius Randle.  Wesley Johnson and Jordan Hill will join Lin, Bryant, and Boozer in the starting lineup.

Nick Young won't return until December.
