Air It Out

  • It looked like Joe Flacco was going to set some records against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after a 4 touchdown 1st quarter. However things settled down after that and Flacco would finish with 5 first half touchdowns, failing to throw another in the second half.

Ground and Pound

  • LeSean McCoy still proving why he's the best running back in the game. He torched the New York Giants for 149 yards on 22 carries.
  • Thanks to a huge 89 yard touchdown and some extra carries in an overtime tie, Giovani Bernard ran for 137 yards on 18 carries.

  • It doesn't matter who the defense is, DeMarco Murray is going to run for over 100 yards and score a touchdown. That's exactly what he did against the Seattle Seahawks - 29 carries 115 yards and a TD.
  • Justin Forsett only needed 14 carries to run for 111 yards against the Bucs.
  • Wait isn't Cam Newton a QB? He had the 5th most rushing yards on Sunday. Newton not only threw for 284 yards but he ran for 107 on 17 attempts. He also ran one in from 12 yards out.

Defense Wins Championships

  • Well the Minnesota Vikings are becoming a joke and the Detroit Lions took complete advantage. The Lions held the Vikings to just 3 points and they sacked Teddy Bridgewater 8 times and picked him off 3 times.
  • It was an awful day for the New York Giants. Not only did they lose Victor Cruz for the year but the Eagles defense was in shutdown mode. The Eagles shut the Giants out, sacked Eli Manning 8 times and recovered a fumble.
  • Despite allowing 20 points against the Washington Redskins, the Arizona Cardinals still recorded 2 sacks, 3 interceptions, a fumble recovery and scored a touchdown.
  • The Titans had the privilege of playing the win-less Jacksonville Jaguars, and allowed just 14 points, while sacking Blake Bortles 6 times and recorded an interception, a fumble recovery and blocked kick.
  • A day when the Denver Broncos offense wasn't firing on all cylinders, it was the defense that stepped up. The Broncos allowed 17 points, sacked Geno Smith 4 times, recorded a fumble recovery and a pick-6.
  • The New England Patriots defense allowed 22 points against the Buffalo Bills, and recorded 5 sacks and 3 takeaways.
