The Oakland Athletics continue to retool their roster, this time trading Brandon Moss to the Cleveland Indians, in exchange for Joe Wendle.  Billy Beane sent Josh Donaldson to the Toronto Blue Jays just a few days ago and Jason Hammel, acquired from the Cubs with Jeff Samardzija for Addison Russell, was not re-signed and returned to Chicago.  Jon Lester, acquired in exchange for Yeonis Cespedes, is soon to decide his fate and sign with the Red Sox, Cubs, Giants or Dodgers.  Samardzija is heavily involved in trade rumors at the MLB Winter Meetings.

Moss has spent the last 3 seasons with Oakland, hitting 76 home runs and driving in 220 runs, hitting .254 with a .340 OBP and .504 SLG.  Moss will have to play the outfield with Carlos Santana/Nick Swisher at 1B/DH.  He should fit in nicely in the middle of the lineup, behind Michael Brantley and Santana.

Wendle will turn 25 next season and is a 2B.  Over 3 minor league seasons, he owns a .292 BA, but hit just .253 in AA last season.  He has a little power hitting 20+ doubles 2 seasons in a row and hit 16 homers back in 2013.
