It doesn't matter if it's fantasy football, fantasy baseball or fantasy basketball - I have the world's worst luck in fantasy sports!
Our basketball league is head 2 head and uses a points system, not categories.
Here's the Scoring System:
|3-point Shots Made||0.5|
I currently have 18,324.50 points, the most in the league. However I sit in third place at 6-5. The team who has the second most points in the league is 7-4 and in first place with 16,739 points. Three other teams have points in the 16,000 range while the other 7 teams are in the 15,000's. Out of 12 teams, 5 are 6-5, giving 7 teams a winning record.
Getting the second pick in the draft with Kevin Durant injured was a blessing in disguise. There is a good chance Durant went #1 overall with LeBron falling to me and I would have drafted him without even thinking twice about it. Instead LeBron went first and I selected Anthony Davis. Davis is the top ranked fantasy player as he's averaging 60.5 points per game. I have two other players in the top 25 - Jimmy Butler 45.4 points and DeAndre Jordan with 43.9 points per game. Jrue Holiday and Monta Ellis also average just over 40 points per game and that gives me 5 of the top 50 players in the league. Not bad for a 12 man league.
In my 6 wins I average 1,769 points and give up 1,438 - that's a 331 point differential in wins.
- 1758 - 1404
- 1665 - 1269
- 1642 - 1199
- 1783 - 1722
- 1959 - 1423
- 1812 - 1613
In my 5 losses I average 1,540 points and give up 1,612 - that's a 72 point differential losses.
- 1195 - 1187
- This one stung the most as it was the first week of the season and I lost by just 8 points! Nikola Vucevic killed my as he averaged 17.6 points, 15.6 rebounds, and had 3 double doubles in all 3 games that week. Vucevic only averaged 45.2 points per game this season but the opening week he averaged over 57. Zach Randolph also did a number on me as he averaged 19.6 points, 12.6 rebounds and also recorded a double double in all 3 games. On top of that, he got good a good week out of Jeff Teague and Damian Lillard.
- 1541 - 1494
- After reeling off 3 straight wins, I was feeling very good about my team. However once again I suffered a heartbreaking loss, losing by 47 points. It was Kyle Lowry and Pau Gasol who did the damage this week. Lowry in 4 games averaged 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 8.5 assists. In Gasol's 4 games he averaged 21.2 points, 12 rebounds, and had 3 double doubles. On top of that, he got a good week out of Tim Duncan, DeMarcus Cousins, Brandon Knight and Goran Dragic.
- 1796 - 1784
- I suffered my second straight loss and this time I lost by just 12 points. I got absolutely destroyed by Michael Carter-Williams. In 4 games, MCW averaged 20 points, 8.7 rebounds, 11.2 rebounds and over 2 steals a game - he had 3 double doubles that week. Despite only averaging 42.7 points per game this year, Carter-Williams averaged 64.2 this week. On top of that, he got a good week out of Jared Sullinger, Andrew Bogut, Marc Gasol, Hawhi Leonard, Trey Burke and LeBron James.
- 1773 - 1492
- This was my first blowout loss and his whole team pretty much had a great week. Ty Lawson, Joe Johnson, Derrick Rose, Rudy Gay, Kyrie Irving and Andrew Wiggins hurt me but it was James Harden who was the stand out player. In 4 games Harden averaged 27 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and hit 15 three pointers.
- 1758 - 1747
As long as my players can stay healthy as the season moves along, I feel very confident heading into the playoffs. I couldn't ask for a better player than Anthony Davis to lead my team and with strong supporting pieces like Jimmy Butler, Monta Ellis, Jrue Holiday, Dirk Nowitzki, DeAndre Jordan, and Brandon Jennings. Hopefully the trade to Memphis will turn things around for Jeff Green as he basically quit in Boston and then Donatas Montiejunas and Ed Davis will continue to see big minutes for the Rockets and Lakers respectfully. Chris Kaman has potential on any night to put up big numbers as he's capable of pulling down double digit rebounds and multiple blocks in any game.
