Elvis Andrus was pretty consistent in 2014, hitting .260ish before and after the MLB All-Star game. His .263 season average was below his career average, but he did hit a career high 35 doubles.  The Rangers scored less than 700 runs for the first time in 10 seasons, due to a season ending injury to Prince Fielder and Shin-Soo Choo and Alex Rios have down years.  This led to Andrus tieing his career low in runs scored with 72, the same as his rookie season.

We ranked Andrus 5th in our Fantasy Baseball SS Rankings

Starlin Castro (.292) hit above his career average of .284 and set a career high .438 SLG, thanks to 33 doubles and 14 home runs.  The 14 home runs tied his career high.  He did this while playing in just 134 games and 528 ABs.  He saw just 5 ABs in September, due to a high ankle sprain.  He was hot in the second half of the season, hitting .329 before suffering the injury and ending his season.

We Ranked Castro 9th in our Fantasy Baseball SS Rankings

They have been very similar players over the last three seasons, both hitting around .270 overall with better numbers against lefties and on the road.  Andrus is a speedster who benefited from a powerful lineup. Castro has been more of a power hitter, with less talent around him, but things are changing in Chicago and the roster could produce nicely in 2015 with Anthony Rizzo, Jorge Soler, a full season of Javier Baez and the possible debut of Kris Bryant.
