The Phoenix Suns have traded Isaiah Thomas to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Marcus Thornton and a 2016 1st round draft pick via the Cleveland Cavaliers. Thomas joins a backcourt that features Marcus Smart, Avery Bradley and Evan Turner. Believe it or not Boston is actually 11th in the NBA, scoring 100.8 points per game and 4th in the league with 24.5 assists. Turner has led the team in assists since Rajon Rondo was dealt but has done little scoring.
Without Jeff Green, Bradley and Jared Sullinger have taken over on the offensive end but you can expect IT2 to cut into their shot attempts. At about 28 minutes per game, Thomas should continue to produce his career numbers of 15.3 points per game on 44% shooting, 4.2 assists and 2.4 rebounds.
If Brad Stevens decides to make him the teams starting PG, we could see numbers like we did during the 2013-14 season when Thomas was a member of the Sacrament Kings. In 54 starts, he averaged 21.2 points per game and 6.8 assists playing 37 minutes!
