The Milwaukee Bucks are 30-23 coming out of the NBA All-Star break and still decided to shake things up by trading Brandon Knight to the Phoenix Suns and acquiring Michael Carter-Williams from the Philadelphia 76ers.
Knight led the Bucks in scoring at 17.8 points per game and was averaging 5.4 assists and 4.3 rebounds per night. He now joins a Suns backcourt that rid itself of Goran Dragic and Isaiah Thomas, leaving Eric Bledsoe. Knight could benefit from joining the high scoring Suns, you just have to hope it's done efficiently. Dragic and Thomas were 2nd and 3rd on the team in scoring so expect Knight and Bledsoe to creep towards 20 points per game.
The Suns are trying desperately to hold onto that 8 seed in the Western Conference
MCW is leaving a franchise that had zero intent on winning any time soon, to join a playoff bound Bucks team with tons of young talent. He is not nearly as accurate a shooter as Knight is so I wouldn't expect him to score 17 points per game for the Bucks. However, he could up his assist totals to double digits per game with O.J. Mayo and Khris Middleton on the wings, Giannis Antetokounmpo on the break and one day, Jabari Parker in the post and on the pick and roll.
