The Denver Nuggets have agreed to trade Arron Afflalo and Alonzo Gee to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Thomas Robinson, Victor Claver, Will Barton, a 2016 protected 1st round and a 2nd round pick. Portland was desperate for bench scoring and Afflalo can provide just that.

Afflalo was playing 33 minutes per game for the Nuggets and averaged 14.5 points per game.  As the leader of the second unit, there is no reason to believe he wont be able to continue to pull off 12 shots per game.  As an added bonus, most of his playing time will come against other teams bench players, so he could see an improvement in his FG%, which is currently just 42%, below his career 45%.

For now, if Wilson Chandler stays with Denver, he is the beneficiary of Afflalo's departure.  Ty Lawson is in the same boat.  All three of these guys led the Nuggets offense and with Afflalo gone, there are 12 more shots to be shared between Chandler and Lawson.  However, both of them are rumored to be traded today before the NBA trade deadline passes.

Is Randy Foye going to take over the SG position?  Could this mean that rookie Gary Harris is about to see extended minutes for Denver, or that Will Barton will finally get to showcase his skills?  For fantasy basketball purposes, unless you have a deep bench, there is no player to stash at the moment.

Thomas Robinson is now joining his 4th team in as many seasons and it has killed his development.  He now joins a Nuggets team that is deep at the PF/C position, with guys like Kenneth Faried, J.J. Hickson, Darrell Arthur, Jusuf Nurkic and JaVale McGee.
