The Carolina Panthers have released RB DeAngelo Williams.  Williams is the franchise leader in rushing yards (6,846) and rushing TD (46).  This means one of two things:
  1. Jonathan Stewart will finally get a chance to be the workhorse
  2. The Panthers have plans to draft/sign a new franchise RB

Lions Cut Reggie Bush

Injuries and shared time derailed Williams' career, twice being limited to just 6 games, including this past season.  He managed to gain 1,000 yards in a season just twice and they came in back to back years during the 2008 and 2009 seasons.  He totaled 20 touchdowns in 2008, 18 rushing.

He will turn 32 prior to the start of the 2015 NFL season and it will be interesting to see if a team is willing to give the veteran one more chance.
