There was nothing but hype surrounding the New York Mets in 2015 with the return of Matt Harvey and a plehteora of young arms.  But reports are that Zack Wheeler has a torn UCL and will require Tommy John surgery.

Last year, not only did Harvey miss the entire season, but the Mets lost closer Bobby Parnell to TJ surgery too.  Just last week the team received news that one of their few lefties in the bullpen, Josh Edgin, need TJ surgery and will miss this season.  The Mets have Steven Matz, a left handed prospect, whom the team had announced would not be in the bullpen but continuing to develop as a starter in the minors, but this could change things.  Dillon Gee will jump back into the Mets rotation and Sandy Alderson was wise to not trade him this offseason, just because they have a surpluss of arms.
