The Jacksonville Jaguars have made a huge splash as they have agreed to a deal with top free agent tight end, Julius Thomas. This is a big move for the team as it gives their second year quarterback, Blake Bortles, a dangerous weapon. The deal will pay Thomas around $9 million per year.

If the Jaguars can get Justin Blackmon back this year as well, this will give the team a nice 1-2 punch in the passing game. The team got solid production out of rookies Allen Hurns, Allen Robinson and Marqise Lee last season.

Unfortunately the team has a number of holes to fill and signing Thomas won't make Jacksonville a winning team.

Thomas caught 24 touchdowns over the past two seasons with Peyton Manning as his quarterback. It's highly unlikely he posts numbers anywhere close to that in Jacksonville. He'll be a middle of the pack tight end in 2015.

The Jags have the 3rd pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, and our last Mock Draft had them selecting OT Brandon Scherff out of Iowa but they could also go defense and add DE Randy Gregory out of Nebraska, DE Shane Ray out of Missouri or Dante Fowler Jr. from Florida..
