The Oakland Athletics beat the Texas Rangers 10-0 last night, behind a dominate pitching performance from Scott Kazmir, and 4 RBI from Mark Canha.  Kazmir one hit the Rangers over seven innings, striking out 10.  Canha hit 5th in the lineup, behind Billy Butler, filling in for Ike Davis at 1B with lefty Ross Detwiller on the mound.  With Davis as a big question mark and Brett Lawrie being Brett Lawrie, Canha might find himself playing against lefties and even some 3B!

Canha made his MLB debut last night and hit two doubles, one with the bases loaded that nearly left the park!

Canha spent 5 seasons in the Miami Marlins farm system, hitting 22+ doubles in four straight seasons (32 in 2013) and 20 home runs twice (2012, 2014).  He owns a career .285 Minor League batting average, but hit .303 last season.

Canha was a Rule 5 selection of the Colorado Rockies in 2014, before being traded in December to Oakland, for Austin House.

A team looking for a backup corner bat could be interested. Canha has an above-average hit tool with average power. Primarily a first baseman, he can play third base or left field in a pinch, which gives him a potential backup role. - Baseball America
No mixed league value at the moment, but AL-only owners should consider rostering him if a bench spot is available!
