Homer Bailey is the second $100M+ pitcher to need Tommy John surgery. First: Mike Hampton in '05. As $ and TJ rates spike, list will grow. - @JeffPassan

After making just two starts this year, the Cincinnati Reds might be without starting pitcher Homer Bailey for the long term. Bailey has a right elbow ligament sprain that could require Tommy John Surgery and would mean he would miss the rest of the 2015 season, as well as part of the 2016 season.

Michael Lorenzen and Raisel Iglesias are two pitchers the Reds will look to fill Bailey's role in the rotation. Cincinnati Reds Logo
