The following is a list of players in the MLB who are hitting line drives in more than 20% of their ABs, but have a BABIP below league average. These are players that you might want to consider holding onto if you own them, or trying to acquire on the cheap as their luck could change, soon....hopefully!
Granderson finds himself at the top of the list again, but his luck has changed in June, hitting .279. Chase Headley, Alcides Escobar, Josh Harrison, Starling Marte, Logan Forsythe and Pablo Sandoval all hit their way off list, raising their BABIP over .300. Chris Carter still owns a BABIP below .300, but his LD% fell to 18.5%.
Carlos Gonzalez (.078), David Ortiz, Dexter Fowler, Jimmy Rollins, Shin-Soo Choo, Hanley Ramirez, Mark Teixeira and Joe Mauer are all hitting .050 or more below their career BABIP.
Ian Kinsler, Josh Reddick and Andrelton Simmons own a BABIP above their career average.
