The Atlanta Braves have placed 1B Freddie Freeman on the 15-Day disabled list with a wrist injury. Freeman has been hot in 2015, with 41 RBI thanks to 20 doubles and 12 home runs. This in a season in which people were not expecting much with the departure of Jason Heyward, Justin Upton and Evan Gattis . Freeman hit 5 home runs in June in just 64 ABs and considering he only hit 18 home runs all of last season, fantasy owners have gotten WAY more than they expected out of Freeman, even though they typically spent a 3rd or 4th round pick on him.
He hasn't played since June 17th and Kelly Johnson has filled in, but is not a reliable fantasy baseball option. Brock Holt and Justin Turner have multi position eligibility across the infield and I love having that flexibility on my roster. If you feel you can use either one of them, start there. Yasmani Grandal can play 1B as well as catch which makes him a valuable player, especially if you are unhappy with your catcher. Logan Forsythe and Danny Espinosa can give you middle infield flexibility as well. Chris Colabello is good option, playing for a hot Blue Jays offense and can also play the OF for your fantasy team.
