For the first time in NBA history, the NBA Finals started with two overtime games. Somehow, someway, the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena 95-93, without Kyrie Irving. This is just the 4th loss all year the Warriors have suffered at home, including the playoffs.
Matthew Dellavedova got the start and SHUT DOWN Stephen Curry. Curry missed all 8 shots he took when guarded by Delly, and set an NBA Finals record for most 3pt shot attempts missed, with 13 misses on 15 attempts.
LeBron James posted a triple-double, with 39 points, 16 rebounds and 11 assists, but shot just 31% from the field (11-35). He made 14 of 18 free throws.
Klay Thompson carried the Warriors with 34 points on 14 of 28 shooting, but hit on just 4 of his 12 three point field goals.
