Average Draft Position is important to remember when you enter your fantasy football drafts this summer. If you do you homework, you will know which players are being undervalued and who is being overvalued, as well as the same for certain positions.  Two weeks ago we looked at Yahoo's ADP and last week we focused on ESPN.
  • I removed all DEF/ST and Kickers from the list
  • I made slight adjustments to the order to give each team 2 RBs before a team could add a 3rd, and so that teams could not draft 2 QBs - sans Brady owner
  • I made sure each team drafted a RB and WR on their bench

Round 1

Jamaal Charles was also the top pick in Yahoo drafts, when we look at their ADP on July 20th.  Eddie Lacy was ESPN's pick last week.  However, this time Adrian Peterson was knocked out of the #2 spot in favor of Lacy.  Lynch than Bell finished the top 5 as usual, but Matt Forte beat out Antonio Brown for the 6th overall pick.  Brown actually falls to the 9th spot, which is a great value.

Round 2

As we have been saying throughout the ADP Mock Draft series, you can easily find a WR1 in the 2nd round.  There is no need to pass up on Matt Forte, C.J. Anderson, Arian Foster or LeSean McCoy to draft Odell Beckham in the 1st round.  Wait for Dez Bryant, Julio Jones, Calvin Johnson, Jordy Nelson, A.J. Green, Alshon Jeffery, etc.  See what I mean!  Team 7 was the only team to draft two RBs to start their draft (Foster/Murray).  Team 12 (Thomas/Bryant) and Team 9 (Brown/Gronkowski) are the only teams without a RB.

Round 3

Jimmy Graham is a great pick in the 3rd round, but I would only draft him if I had started my draft with a RB/WR combo, like Team 4 (Lynch/Nelson) did.  That's a nice balanced roster.  We did not like Alfred Morris at 3.2 in Yahoo drafts, liked him at 3.7 in ESPN mocks and love him at 3.11 in this CBS mock draft.  Team 12 drafted 3 WRs to start which at this point doesn't matter because their next pick to start the 4th was a RB....

Round 4

....however, you do not want to start Mark Ingram as your RB1 week in and week out.  By drafting Thomas/Bryant, Team 12 missed out on McCoy, Hill, Murray, Forsett, L. Murray, Gordon, Gore, Hyde and Morris.  CBS owners are smarter than Yahoo and ESPN....or time just corrected some mistakes.  This is the only one of the three mocks to have Russell Wilson drafted AFTER Peyton Manning and in the 4th round to boot!  Good job CBS owners!  Team 3 drafted Adrian Peterson to start their draft and followed up with 3 WRs.  I like Green/Jeffery in the 2nd and 3rd round but don't follow that up with a rookie WR3 in Amari Cooper.  I would rather have Andre Ellington than Joique Bell as my RB2 and it's the difference of just 5 picks!  Could have Ellington/Watkins instead of Cooper/Bell.

Round 5

If you are targeting Travis Kelce, Greg Olsen or Martellus  Bennett, round 5 seems to be where they come off the board.  However, in CBS leagues, Bennett is falling into the middle of the 6th round and after Julius Thomas.  Bennett in the 6th as the 6th TE is a great draft pick.

Round 6

QBs are valuable but the difference between Drew Brees and Russell Wilson in the 4th round and Matt  Ryan and Cam Newton in the 6th round will be negligible.  QB7-QB12 were separated by just 20 points.

Rounds 7-10

There will be some RBs drafted late that will become gold.  Ameer Abdullah, Isaiah Crowell,  Devonta Freeman and what ever the Bucs decide to do at RB could all be key contributors in fantasy football this season.  I also love the veteran WRs being drafted late - Vincent Jackson, Larry Fitzgerald, Kendall Wright, Pierre Garcon, Marques Colston, Terrance Williams, etc.  There are even some young receivers tucked in there.  They can all be WR3 options depending on how deep your league is.  No need to rush to fill up on receivers early in the draft!

If you draft Tom Brady, have a 5 week plan or a really good take on your streaming options.  We will be creating a post for each week, ranking the QBs that could be available in your league!
