Good luck to all our daily fantasy football brethren. One key in developing DFS lineups is to find those value plays that allow you to pay up for studs. We have some value plays to consider on GoDraft this week so pick wisely and cash.
Value QB Plays:
Blake Bortles, GoDraft Price $10,400- Bortles has been very good this preseason. Reports keep mentioning his improved mechanics and footwork in the pocket. He’s a bargain and I project 245 passing yards and 2 TDs to go with 25 rushing yards.
Also consider: Tyrod Taylor $10,500
Value RB Plays:
Chris Ivory, Godraft Price $6,900- Ivory is the starting RB projected for over 20 touches. The Jets are the favored home team in this game. The Jets are on record as saying they want to run and they want to ride Ivory. Plug Ivory in and let’s ride him to victory when he runs for 115 yards and 2 TDs to go along with 3 catches for 25 yards. GoDraft awards a full point for each catch PPR.
Benny Cunningham, GoDraft Price $6,000- Cunningham was held out of the 4th preseason game. With all the injuries in the backfield I predict Cunningham gets over 20 touches also. A modest 65 rushing yards for a TD and 5 catches for 35 yards will pay off his price.
Also consider: Alfred Blue $5,900, Isaiah Crowell $6,900, Bishop Sankey $6,300
Value WR Plays:
Charles Johnson, Godraft Price $6,400- This guy is a PPR machine and developed a nice rapport with Teddy Bridgewater. I project Johnson catches 8 balls for 90 yards and 2 TDs vs a San Francisco defense that lost a ton of guys and have a new scheme.
Allen Robinson, Godraft Price $8,600- I recommended Blake Bortles in the QB section and his favorite target is Mr. Robinson. Standing at 6’3 he will need to pick up the red zone targets with Julius Thomas out for the 1st few weeks. He wasn’t targeted much in the red zone last year but the Jaguars weren’t in the red zone much. I think he gets 9 balls for 95 yards and a TD vs the Panthers this week. The stack of Bortles-Robinson could be very profitable and allow you to pay up for studs elsewhere.
Sammy Watkins, GoDraft Price $8,500- My only concern with Watkins is that Buffalo is starting Tyrod Talor. Watkins is priced too low for his talent but his QB holds him back. I project a modest 6 catches for 70 yards and a TD.
Davante Adams, GoDraft Price $4,600- I just don’t think we will get a guy at this price with his potential upside all season. Adams will be in every lineup I make. At his price to can fit studs and he’ll pay off. I project Adams for 5 catches for 80 yards and a TD. The Packers have the highest team total of 29 points as far as Vegas is concerned so take Jordy Nelson’s replacement and he may even exceed my projections vs a terrible Chicago secondary.
Also consider: John Brown $6,700, Stevie Johnson $4,600, Kendall Wright $6,900, Terrance Williams $4,600, Leonard Hankerson $4,600
Value TE Plays:
Richard Rodgers, Godraft Price $4,400- Richard Rodgers will be heavily targeted in the red zone by Aaron Rodgers. I want the discount double check that Richard Rodgers provides at the TE position. I project him for 4 catches for 45 yards and a TD which I will take at that discount.
Also consider: Vernon Davis $4,000
With these plays in mind you can fill out a solid lineup and fit in an extra stud or two depending on how you want to play it. That Bortles/Robinson stack may pay off in a GPP.
