The running back position is looking thin in Week 5, with Adrian Peterson, Chris Ivory, Lamar Miller, and Jonathan Stewart all one BYE weeks. You will have to pay for top talent in Jamaal Charles and Le'Veon Bell or pick the right back out of the middle of the pack!
Don't even think about making a DraftKings, FanDuel, FantasyAces or a Yahoo DFS lineup without the Lineup Optimizer via FantasyCruncher.com.
For our optimizer to work, you need projections. Luckily we supply those for you in the form of our expert daily fantasy projections, created by our very own pool of professional players. Each sport (NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB) has player projections created by one of our experts. This gives you an excellent base to create your lineups from.
Week 5 DFS Advice
Using the Fantasy Cruncher lineup optimizer, we created 100 lineups. Except this time, we removed all of the players we believe will be owned by a majority of DFS players, guys like Tyrod Taylor, Todd Gurley, Demaryius Thomas, Julian Edelman and Jeremy Maclin.
Is it time to target Josh McCown? He goes up against a Ravens defense in Baltimiore, but has looked really good in the Cleveland Browns last two games. McCown has completed 60 his last 90 attempts for 697 yards and four touchdowns.
Stack him with TE Gary Barnidge! Who would have guessed we would ever be saying that!
At just $8,900 combined, the pair comes cheaper than Julio Jones or Odell Beckham! The Ravens have allowed Derek Carr and Andy Dalton to throw for over 300 yards this season. However, TEs have caught just 8 passes for 31 yards this season against Baltimore.
By saving the money on QB/TE, it allows you some wiggle room at the RB/WR positions.
Is Andre Williams worth the risk? The New York Giants will host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football and San Fran has allowed six rushing touchdowns already this year. Over the last three weeks, DeAngelo Williams, Chris Johnson and Eddie Lacy have rushed for 277 yards and scored 5 touchdowns. John Kuhn scored last week for the Green Bay Packers.
The Giants run game has been brutal in 2015, but Williams has led the team in carries the past two weeks with 25 carries. Rashad Jennings has seen 20, Shane Vereen 11.
If you prefer a safer option, Dion Lewis and the New England Patriots return to action in Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys at Jerry World. Their 32 completions allowed to RBs is 4th worst in the NFL.
You can add Jamaal Charles or Le'Veon Bell to a lineup with Willams/Lewis
At the WR position, even after a let down league wide at the position, this is still where I would invest most of my salary. Tavon Austin and Ted Ginn Jr. were the only receivers with multiple TDs in Week 4 and there were just six receivers with 100+ yards.
Julio Jones and Randall Cobb can be a staple in your lineup each week, but depending on how you fill out the rest of your lineup will determine which Atlanta Falcons or Green Bay Packers receiver you can afford. Leonard Hankerson and James Jones are cheaper options.
Don't chase Allen Hurns points. The Jacksonville Jaguars receiver has scored in back to back weeks and is coming off a 15 target, 11 catch, 116 yard, two touchdown game, but caught just 2 passes the week before. He doubled his season target total in Week 4.
