49ers Trade Vernon Davis to Broncos

As the NFL trade deadline quickly approaches, the San Francisco 49ers have agreed to TE Vernon Davis to the Denver Broncos in exchange for three draft picks.  Davis has been a member of the Niners for 10 seasons, and racked up 55 career touchdown receptions.  Davis has just 18 receptions (29 targets) for 194 yards this seaons with no touchdowns.

Davis leaves Colin Kaepernick and the defunct 49ers offense and joins Peyton Manning in Denver.  He will be sharing time with Owen Daniels but Davis could spark the Broncos into a scary pass attack once again.  Daniels and Virgil Green have caught 23 of their 40 targets for 238 yards.  Daniels has the Broncos two TE TDs.

If anything, Davis opens up the field a bit for Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders as well as Ronnie Hillman and C.J. Anderson. Everyone wins.

San Fran will turn to Garrett Celek and Vance McDonald at TE, but don't expect either player to become fantasy football options.
