Braves Trade Cameron Maybin to Tigers

The Atlanta Braves have zero interest in competing next season.  They are making this very clear by trading SS Andrelton Simmons to the Angels and now OF Cameron Maybin to the Tigers.  In return, Atlanta will get Ian Krol and Gabe Speier from Detroit.

Maybin had a career year last season, hitting .267 with 10 home runs and 59 RBI, all career highs.  Maybin managed to play in 140+ games for just the second time in his eight year career.

Maybin was part of the Miguel Cabrera trade back in 2007, just two years after being drafted 10th overall by the Tigers.  Three years later, he was traded to San Diego for Edward Mujica and Ryan Webb.  He was dealt to Atlanta last season in the Craig Kimbrel deal.

We thought the Tigers lineup was going to dominate baseball last season, but Detroit finished in last place in the American League Central with just 74 wins.  They traded David Price and Yoenis Cespedes in the process.
