It's clear that the Eagles GM is clearing a ton of cap space on guys who were very ineffective in 2015 and trying to clean up the mess that Chip Kelly left behind. Earlier today the Eagles and Dolphins agreed to a deal that will send both Byron Maxwell and Kiko Alonso to Miami.
DeMarco Murray will clearly be the starting running back in Tennessee and should without a doubt have a better season then the one he had in his one year in Philadelphia. Last season Murray rushed for 702 yards, six touchdowns and averaged just 3.6 yards per carry. The year before that he rushed for 1,845 yards and 13 touchdowns. Clearly it just did not work out in Philly.
This move will be a huge upgrade for Marcus Mariota and the Titans offense. Antonio Andrews led the Titans in rushing last year with 520 yards and three touchdowns, but like Murray, only averaged 3.6 yards per rush.
Should Tennessee hold onto to the #1 pick in the NFL Draft, they should add OT Laremy Tunsil out of Ole Miss. He will help protect Mariota and open up running lanes for Murray.
Expect the Eagles to keep Ryan Mathews and he should be the lead back next season with Darren Sproles filling in his normal role.
The Eagles did re-sign QB Sam Bradford.
