Rotoderby is offering a HR Derby Double-Up for the month of May! Catch is, it's a 25 team pool and first come first serve!
If you miss out on that action, there is a $99 entry with a $750 top prize winner. This one pays out 7 prizes.
GameplayAll teams compete on just 3 stats:
- HR (5pts)
- RBI (1pt)
- K (-1pt)
Choose 10 players from the player pool, 6 infielders and 4 outfielders. Do not exceed the "HR Stat Cap" limit of 210 Home Runs.
Neil Walker is off to a hot start, slugging 9 home runs for the New York Mets to begin the season. That ties him with Dave Kingman, Carlos Delgado and John Buck for the club record. It also makes him the fifth best RotoDerby player from the month of April, behind Nolan Arenado, Bryce Harper
Robinson Cano and Anthony Rizzo.
Arenado has struck out just 8 times so far, while hitting 10 home runs and driving in 21 Rockies.
One of our favorite players heading into the season, Miguel Sano, has struggled mightily, striking out 33 times with just 3 home runs and 11 RBI - good for -17 points. Only Justin Upton has more strikeouts, and has totaled -27 points this April, with just one home run and 5 RBI.
Despite 28 strikeouts each, Giancarlo Stanton and Chris Davis were two of the 25 players to score 20+ points, thanks to 7 home runs each.
Eugenio Suarez was a steal, with a HR salary of just 13, he managed to put up 24 points with 5 home runs and 15 RBI. He should be a pretty safe play in each monthly Derby.
