The American League East boosts some of baseball more powerful offenses in the Toronto Blue Jays, Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees. In fact, when looking at every single start from last season, they forced starting pitchers into some of their worst outings..
The Blue Jays limited opposing starts to just 17.16 fantasy points per start - the only team below 20. The Red Sox (20.72) and the Yankees (21.37) were only separated by the Texas Rangers (21.29).

Price only made 11 starts for the Blue Jays after being acquired from the Tigers, but made six starts against the AL East. He did not face the Red Sox in any of those six starts, so I included his numbers. He actually faced the Yankees four times over the final two months of the season and averaged 45 points per start. Over those 26.1 IP, he struck out 27. In two of those starts, he shut out New York over seven innings with seven strikeouts.
Tanaka made four starts against both Boston and Toronto. He actually struggles more against the Red Sox. While he averaged 38 points per start against the Blue Jays, thanks to excellent starts in August and September, the Sox scored at least three runs and homered in all four matchups, averaging less than 20 points per start.
Archer had just one start against the American League East go wrong - very wrong. With 18 starts against your division, that will happen. On his second to last start of the season, Archer allowed 9 earned runs thanks to a Jose Bautista three run home run and a Russell Martin two run bomb. Archer totaled -31 points. However, Archer also had three starts against the Jays in which he scored over 50 fantasy points.

Dickey was good against the AL East across 14 starts. However, there were two starts that went negative and one of them was against the Rays! James Loney and Rene Rivera homered off R.A in the only start against Tampa that went negative by a starter in the division. It was one of three starts he made in the division that saw him tally no strikeouts - over 18.2 IP.
Tillman was throwig batting practice to the Blue Jays last year, with four negative starts including three of them that went for -28 points or worse! He failed to complete 5 innings in all four of those starts, and couldn'et get out of the second inning back on June 21st. This guy is slotted as their Ace despite adding Gallardo and Ubaldo Jimenez back in the rotation. Behind them you got Mike Wright and Tyler Wilson. They better hope Kevin Gausman (shoulder injury) & Dylan Bundy (bullpen for now) are ready for the Big Leagues!
