The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed their ace Clayton Kershaw on the 15-day DL after he received an epidural for his back injury Wednesday. There is no word on what the exact injury is or if Kershaw will be able to return when his 15 days are up, but it looks like a return after the All-Star break is likely.
Kershaw is coming off his worst start of the year and it was clear he wasn't right. Lasting just six innings against the Pirates, he allowed nine hits, two walks and four runs. This was just the second time all season he allowed more than two runs in a start, and the first walking multiple batters in a game.
On the year Kershaw is 11-2 with an outstanding 1.79 ERA and 0.73 WHIP. His 149/9 strike out to walk ratio is insane. Clearly this will be a huge blow to the Los Angeles Dodgers and more importantly, his fantasy owners!
