On March 3rd, the Houston Texans cut RB Arian Foster after another injury plagued season. Foster appeared in just four games, and averaged 2.6 YPC on 63 attempts.
Between 2010-14, Foster rushed for 6,052 yards, scoring 54 rushing touchdowns. During that time, he also caught 219 passes for 1,948 yards and 12 TDs. Add that together and you get an average of 121 total yards, 3.3 receptions and one touchdown per game over 66 games.
Now, he will have to battle Jay Ajayi and third round draft pick Kenyan Drake for playing time. Lamar Miller left Miami in free agency and signed with the Houston Texans.
Miami did not run the ball much last year, with Miller's 194 carries leading the team. However, Adam Gase is the new Head Coach and the Chicago Bears 469 rush attempts was 6th most in the NFL last year.
Foster is recovering from an Achilles injury suffered just 9 months ago. At 30 years old, it is hard to imagine Foster returning as a fantasy football stud, but he could prove valuable as the season moves on as a vulture.
